bbPress Permissions breaks site

Published on June 21st, 2013 by SickSquirrelTwo

Activate it and the categories disappear from the sidebar. Yesterday we found Ultimate WP Filter did the same thing. I deleted it but as soon as I activated your plugin, bam, most of sidebar goes away.

    Forum questions

    Published on June 21st, 2013 by moldex3d

We’ve got TWO questions about the forum.
The first one is, the edit function. When an author post a topic and want to edit the posted one, the author could “edit” it by pressing “edit”. But sometimes the “edit” button would disappear and the topic could not be edited anymore. We’re not sure if it’s a bug or are there any limitation of how many times the topic could be edited?

Second, we’d like to show only the latest five edit record in editing logs. Where can I modify the setting?

    password protect specific forums

Published on June 20th, 2013 by imagei

    Hey guys,
Please forgive me if this is an FAQ and please also trust that I have googled my eyes square before posting. Is it possible to password protect specific forums. I am trying to develop a forum for a health trust who wish to restrict access to certain sensitive health topics, while making access to those forum topics as simple by giving out a generic user and password to the people who need access. They wish for the remaining forums to be open to public view but to restrict posting to logged in users in both the public and the password restricted forums.

    view topic jumps to reply

I have a newish install of WP and bbPress on a WISP (win, iis, sql server, php) server. I have them both running. But, bbPress won’t show a “topic” (a message), instead, it jumps directly to the reply function.

    go to:
    dev.teamfishco.com
    forums
    test
    pick a topic.

instead of showing the message, it goes directly to the reply… any help?

    Plugins deleted posts

Published on June 20th, 2013 by SickSquirrelTwo

I enabled plugins today. The site broke (every other post is blank; I use bbPress with WordPress) so I deactivated those plugins.

    Posts are still missing.

I decided mid-type to test again. One by one was activated. Ultimate WP Filter caused it to happen.

So … y’all have a similar plugin? You enter a list of words not allowed.

    Divide replies into separate pages

Published on June 20th, 2013 by januzi

    Hi

Let say that I have got ten replies in the topic. I’d like to divide them into separate pages, like:
    /forum/topic/foo/reply/id1
    /forum/topic/foo/reply/id2

    /forum/topic/foo/reply/id10
    (it could also be /forum/topic/foo/?reply=xxx)

There is a single reply slug defined in the admin panel, but I have got no idea how to use it and the documentation isn’t really helpful in that matter. Is there a simple way to do this? I can even modify functions.php if that’ll help.

Editing Topic Titles Tags in Groups and Forums

Published on June 20th, 2013 by TheTechnoTalk

    Hi There,

Is there any SEO Plugin for BuddyPress to Change the Titles of Post Topics in Forums and Groups?

Actually I was running a BuddyPress Site with a Premium Theme –

    Themeforest OneCommunity

It is working fine but the Titles of any post those posted by individuals from my site forums and groups are showing like this:

Group Name | Forum | Topic Title | Site Name

It’s looking bad in terms of SEO and even the title is indexing in Google also not looking fine.

I want to change the Title Format Like This:

    Topic Title | Site Name

    Thanks in advance.

You can refer my site to understand my problem: http://thetechnotalk.com

And if you go to this link: http://thetechnotalk.com/groups/gadgets/forum/topic/spinpod-brings-time-lapse-photography-to-your-smartphone/

    Title is Looking Like ThisL:

Gadgets | Forum | Spin Your Smartphone Camera with Spinpod | The Techno Talk

Check the Title of the above post and I want to change that Like this:

Spin Your Smartphone Camera with Spinpod | The Techno Talk

    I was looking for help….

    Create/add more bbPress Forum Roles

Published on June 19th, 2013 by rewindcaz

I’ve been trying to figure out how to add another Forum Role to bbPress. Does anyone know or use a simple function or plugin that hooks the bbpress user roles and creates another role with specified permissions? I know there’s a WordPress plugin that can add new user types, but I’m trying to figure out how to do this for bbPress user forum roles.
