I can’t get bbpress to work.
I’ve uploaded bbpress to my plugins directory.
After I click on “activate” in the Plugins list, I get this message:
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
I’m logged in as the main Administrator (since there is only 1 user right now)
What am I doing wrong?
Hi All,
I just updated WordPress, in doing so I can no longer see the links for the Forum that are normally in the admin sidebar (Forums, Topics, Replies).
I can see where they are meant to be as the space that is normally above and below it is still there.
I have disabled all plugins to make sure it wasn’t a conflict there.
Any ideas how to fix this?

In our website here: http://thehousingforum.com , we use the bbp-forum-index shortcode to list the forum boards. But we want the forum boards to show up more like they are here: http://www.swnk.org/forums/ , which is shows them in a vertical way with Topics, Posts etc. I’m assuming that you have to edit the CSS to do this? Any quick and easy solution? Thanks.
Users receive a Duplicate Topic Detected error – thrown by bbp_check_for_duplicates – when they try to post a topic with the same name in more than one forum. As the Keymaster, I can post the same topic name in any forum; however, uses who are ‘Subscribers’ may not.
Could someone describe why duplicate topic names are not allowed, etc.?

How can I set a particular forum or category to be excluded from the “latest topics” (or “latest posts” if that’s available) list?
My forum is about a TV show and many participants don’t want to see spoilers. We place spoilers in a particular section, and those spoilers shouldn’t show on the page that lists the latest stuff, or I would like to have two pages: latest with spoilers and latest without spoilers.
Where is the URL, or how can I make a page that will contain the latest replies? I don’t want just the latest topics, but chronological list of every topic that has recently been replied to. For example, a topic from a year ago that received a reply 3 seconds ago should show up on the top of this list.
In phpBB, I had a “new posts” link that would do this.
Essentially, something like “[ bbp-topic-index ] – Display the most recent 15 topics across all your forums with pagination” would be perfect, but for all posts—topics and replies, not just new topics.

Currently, my bbPress base is set to: community/forums
This works fine with everything except for the breadcrumbs. It shows the following:
Home > Forums
instead of
Home > Community > Forums
I’ve read this post:
But can’t figure out how I would inject something between “Home” and “Forum Root” without having to modify the <?php bbp_breadcrumb(); ?> section in all files where it sits. I’d rather do this in my functions.php file with a filter like the above link shows. Any ideas?
