Posts not appearing in linear order

Published on November 28th, 2013 by hyperzzz

Good Morning Folks
I have setup a brand new website for my local gaming club and I have installed BBpress as an alternative forum to phppress ( to get rid of adverts without having to pay) users are starting to migrate across to the new bbpress however i have noticed that some posts are not appearing in linear order, example – date & time posts listed on the forum its not on all of the forums but it is annoying to see posts not showing as and when folks replied.
Can anyone offer any thoughts on how to fix this?

Forum Replies: Text Tab Available But Not Visual

Published on November 27th, 2013 by Matoca

I have a bbPress forum running that has been successfully running for a little over a month now on a WP blog. Average usage is about 20 posts a day.

In the last few days I noticed that the Visual tab is not available for replies, only the text tab. I have tried to switch to the visual tab, but it is not available. This would not be so annoying except all posts are emailed to all admins and the replies are full of HTML code. I understand what it is, but the other moderators do not understand it.

So the emails look like this:
“worked closely with one of the researchers on this paper <span style=”line-height: 1.428571429;”>(both did their Internal medicine specials together at vet university)</span><span style=”line-height: 1.428571429;”> &”

I hope someone is able to help. We are a busy forum helping very sick dogs and there probably have been 50 replies in the last few hours.
Thank you, Matoca

css problems for subscribers when updating from Version 2.3.2 to (2.4 or 2.5)

Published on November 27th, 2013 by ozgurpolat

Hi,

I have a bbpress Version 2.3.2 installation that works fine but if I upgrade to Version 2.4 or 2.5, the css breaks for subscribers and only for child forums. What I mean is if I have a parent forum and create a child forum, when a subscriber visits the child forum, css doesn’t display properly, but if the user is admin, there is no problem. Not sure how to fix it.

Thanks

Forum subscriptions

Published on November 27th, 2013 by kiwi3685

I wonder, have I misunderstood this new (2.5) feature.

I expected that once I am subscribed to a forum I would receive email notification of any new post or reply in that forum. But I haven’t received any (and yes, there were posts overnight to forums I have subscribed to)

Am I wrong? Is “subscription” different to “notification”?

If they are different, what is the design purpose of subscriptions?

I had assumed that the subscription feature would mean I could deactivate ‘bbPress Notify’ plugin, but it seems I still need it.

Edit topic reply, changes post order

Published on November 27th, 2013 by

Greetings,

I noticed that when someone (normally the admin), edits a post, the post goes to the wrong position on the topic:

Example:
TOPIC A
– Post 1
– Post 2
– Post 3
– Post 4

If I edit the Post 2, next time I open the topic the order will be:
TOPIC A
– Post 1
– Post 3
– Post 4
– Post 2

Is this a feature or a bug?
If it’s a feature, is there any way to disable it?

Thanks!

Stylesheet Issues

Published on November 27th, 2013 by Bright Thought, LLC

After I updated bbpress to version 2.5 the stylesheet for the default theme is not being linked correctly.

<link rel=’stylesheet’ id=’bbp-default-css’ href=’http://localhost/wordpress/almostaveragegamers/wp-content/C:xampphtdocswordpresswp-contentpluginsbbpress/templates/default/css/bbpress.css?ver=2.5-5199′ type=’text/css’ media=’screen’ />

This is the way that the link is showing up when I look at the source code for the site which I am designing on a local host server. When I click on the link to see what is displayed this is what it is showing me below.

Add new item to search criteria drop down list

Published on November 26th, 2013 by robertFudge

I need to add an extra <select> item to drop down list on search filtering pages, this extra option can not be present in the WP admin > users > profile settings. For example: a profile option may be: I speak: “English, French, Spanish .. But for the search criteria I would also require “does not matter ” to that list, in the search only, not in the profile creation step.

Thanks
