Are you trying to incorporate the look of your main site into bbpress or functions of WP into bbpress? If you are looking to make bbpress look a part of your site, I highly recommend that you remove all the WP code from config.php. Then make a my-templates directory inside bbpress directory, make a copy of the contents of bb-templates and drop it in there. Then modify the files to match your existing site.
