I used to have the same problem with slow posting. About 20 seconds for a new topic.
Robin w tried to help out and big thanks for all the effort you put in.

I eventually moved away from bbpress/buddypress to buddyboss instead and I don’t have any performance issues anymore.

I’am still having problem with slow post for new topics and it’s even worse now.
About 20 sec to post a new topic. Reply around 1 sec which is fine.

But, the actual post takes around 1 sec but something is happening in the background that takes another 20 sec before the page load is done. I can verify this by opening another browser window to see the new topic.

    All plugins disabled except bbpress.

Under Download in the upper right corner I can only find rc3 and on wordpress.org the link for rc5 is broken.

Expect to notice slower performance but with a fast host, updated platform with PHP 7+, nginx etc it should work ok.
Elasticsearch or Solr for better and faster search.

The importer in 2.6 is much better than 2.5 but expect 10+ hours for the conversion.

I’am in the process of migrating from vbulletin to get a unified platform.

When I run the script several times I think all posts are recalculated but not really sure.

I have som other issues as well.
Imported users do not get a site role or forum role.
    Users post count is zero.
Users do not show up in the memberslist (front end) and are not searchable. But I can access user profiles and the number of topics, replies ans mentions seems to be ok.

Post quotes are not always converted the right way and sometimes even bbcode are parsed resulting in very small text.

I have tried the import on both an newer VPS with php 7 and a older one with php 5.4.

Not able to search for users after importing users and posts from Vbulletin 4.2 to bbpress 2.6RC3. I can go to the profile if I know the name.

Imported users have not been mapped to any forum roles or site roles.

I have ElasticPress and working for WordPress but not for bbpress. What do I need to do to get it working?
