The the great majority of WP themes offer very limited customization or design focus to improve the functionality or aesthetic of bbpress.
What are you looking for specifically , options in the customizer?? pre-designed layout?? or more functionality without plugins??

you might have to create a new widget, i can probably do this later.

try all the general troubleshooting first, if you have other plugins deactivate them, and switch to a default theme like twentytwelve or twentyfifteen.
create me a simple subscriber/participant account so i can check out the quicktags toolbar, send the login details to my email.

make sure to put it in a folder called bbpress in your child theme
search like google or the wordpress search??
you might have to edit your forum in the back-end of WordPress and if you have an SEO plugin activated change it to NOINDEX.

The additional fields might have to be some custom development so consider hiring a developer.

since it has this at the end […], which usually is from your theme thinking this page paragraph is a blog post , yes it is a theme issue.
create a bbpress.php from a copy of page.php or single.php and remove unwanted code that might be affecting your layout.

as to your + New button, i dont know how to help with that , if you already created it maybe add a conditional to the function to only show it to Admins/Mods , but im not sure.
it should be by default , you probably installed a plugin that caused this issue or you messed with some users capabilities.
