    This is my second time asking this question along with another poster. When is the plugin to be ready and available on wordpress.org?

    It was my understanding that the plugin was to be released at the end of 2010

    Is this plugin fully completed?? I thought it was meant to be completed in December! I don’t see it at wordpress.org. What happens for people that had deep integration and had a wordpress blog as well as bbpress operating?

    I thought the legend was BBpress was created from a mad session of coding over a weekend. If this is the case why not have another mad weekend session of coding and get BBpress into a plugin with the top 10 plugins as part of the core.

    If you want to get bbpress out and working to the masses then put a lot of the plugins into the core where they would be better updated and maintained. Right now if you want to use plugins you need to hire a developer to implement and figure out how to work the plugin. The plugins are not updated and you need to figure out how to make the plugin work through the forum comment section.

    Critical plugins that should be in the core would be something like a bbcode lite, bbbuttons, terms of service, quote function, allow images, allow video, signature, login with facebook. Private messaging perhaps. Security features like capatcha and prevent service provider addresses would also be good as part of the core. More unique features like BB Press Latest Discussions, Adsense, Flickr etc could be provided by way of plugins.

    It mentions in the readme file to do this:

    Copy and paste this: <?php bbad_ad_block(); ?> as the first line of post.php (before <div class="threadauthor">)

    but I cannot find (before <div class="threadauthor">)

    anywhere in post.php file, can it be the very first item of post.php?

    Not available for download. Tried to download and the link to plugin creator and his email is down

    The purpose of a plugin is to allow non expert people like myself to use all of their intelligence to figure out how to download such plugin and so they can make use of it and improve their user experience. It is not to pretend that there is a plugin by inserting code (which they wouldn’t have a clue how to do) in an already non compliant plugin and then search the internet and insert another item into the code of the non compliant plugin (with current version of the software) and hope it works.

    I really do appreciate your help and guidance and suggestions, but I am a layman when it comes to computers and when I am looking for a plugin, I am really looking for a plugin and something that I can just download and have work.

    Maybe but the hot-topic plugin doesn’t have a bursting flame of fire animated gif and doesn’t work with the latest version of bbpress

    @quickd

    So the key is creating the animated gif, anyone interested in doing that? or is there a free one on the internet?

    @quickd

    It doesn’t seem that complicated or fancy of an update to the website, why is it taking so long to change?

    @quickd

    So where does the animated gif go. You would need to create the animated gif of a flaming fire. would that go where I’M ON FIRE is located

    what would i need to delete on line 2 just bb_polls_pre_poll

    I am assuming that this has nothing to do with the issue of the plugins not activating
