My issue is was I couldn’t find where to click to Export each forum.

Then click on each Forum and it is on the right hand side.
Hi Jason. I checked them all, still can’t see an option for bbPress forum import/export.
Been happening to me lately. Not sure why.
I use WP Mail Bank for SMTP
I installed bbPress Import Export

but for the life of me I can’t see where to run this in the Dashboard!
This is still unresolved and a mystery. I get email notifications for subscribed topics.

What about inline images? The preview doesn’t seem to show up the images – unless it’s just me.
Yes @caesarhills, it’s inline images live in your forum post and not just an attachment 🙂
There is an issue on the size limitation for upload but that may be a server restriction I think.
Anyway you can always warn your users to resize the images before upload.
I am trying various “resize images on upload” plugins but so far none seem to work properly

This works for me :
1) Add this to function.php in your child theme
via http://bavotasan.com/2014/add-media-upload-button-to-bbpress/
Open up your functions.php file and add the following snippet to get it working:

So now you have the Add Media button in the posting
2) What you need now is to fine tune the user capabilities so that not only administrators but normal users can upload media direct to the form post using the Add Media button

I guess you could use a Custom user type (e.g. clone the normal participants) to experiment. Later on you could edit all your users and convert them to this Custom user type
Check the ability to:
a) Upload files
b) Unfiltered HTML
for this Custom user type
I guess it comes with risks but it has the benefits of direct Media upload to the bbPress forum
It’s not only images but other media e.g. PDF (which works nicely with thhe Google Doc Embedder Plugin

when I fine tune the forum user to add the ability to Upload files, the user can add existing media to the post but not upload new media.
So close…. any ideas?
Seems that after the WordPress 4.0 update I can no longer create forum polls. All I get is
Polls only at Topic level please.
Anyone experience this too?
Strange. The formatting toolbars are present in Chrome but absent in FF for me too.

I tried and unfortunately the GDE button doesn’t seem to be compatible. It does not appear even if I check the “Fancy editor full” option (which seems to mess up the Visual editor toolbar for me)

@peterwsterling the Polls plugin generally works well. There is however a “bug”
After creating the poll, if one ever tries to edit the first post in the topic, one will see an error message which says that the poll can only be created for the first post (even if it is the first post).
You’ll lose the shortcode formatting and have to re-create it.
I’d like to see an auto-subscribe feature for forums too!

Nope, it’s not blocking updates from bbPress despite blocking activity types:
new_forum_post, new_forum_topic
I am also curious as there should be some fine tuning here otherwise I agree that updating the activity stream with forum posts and replies will result in too much duplication of updates

Ahh @kaliceos I get it now. Yes If I set a forum as a category it will display the structure. Unfortunately I have some I have set as subforums of a forum which already has discussions so if I change that into a category I will lose all the discussions there right?
