    Hi Luisc9,

I dont have an anwer for you as I have taken BBPress down for the moment. All I can say is, I have a coder who charges me $15 an hour to fix this kind of stuff. Got him from Elance and he is good and trustworthy. For people who aren’t all that good at fixing this type of stuff, its worth it – well for me it is anyway. Hope someone replies to you soon.

Sktrader, thanks for posting your site. I had a coder set everything up for me a few months ago and I remember the BBPress register/login area looked really naff. Maybe he wasnt such a good coder? We decided to use User Pro, but I didnt like it in the end. We had a User Pro PM plugin and I just remember having so many problems with everything, I took it down in the end and members joined my closed FB group. Am going to look into this more. Not sure what happened with mine but yours looks professional and smart. Thanks a bunch for this.

Ok thats great – thanks. I was using User Pro but I didn’t like it. I kinda remember the BBPress login widget was a bit rough looking but am sure I can get a coder to make it look pretty. Do either of you know if most people with a BBPress forum also use the BBPress login widget or do they use something else?

Fixed it. Did a forum split yesterday and had to repair forums in Tools > forums.

Ok I managed to do this and it was so simple, its a bit embarrassing. I used a plugin called BBPress Post Toolbar.

Thanks for the code dzpoa. Has anyone else tried it? I haven’t had any problems since but thats because (I think) I’ve taken out my members ability to correct their posts. I daren’t go in and edit any myself but luckily I haven’t had to yet.

And thanks Stephen for trying to figure out what it is. Forgot my manners in my mini panic. I set the reply to zero and it has gone back to the correct place. No idea!!

I can confirm this has just happened to me too. My edited post jumped to the bottom of the thread. Whats going on?

Mine has been fixed and this is what it was: I had to go into the backend and edit the “Reply To” box to zero. In the right hand column you have Forum, Topic, Reply To. I changed Reply To to zero.

My coder then went into my database and found 34 posts from over 15600 replies that were locked.

    This is what he said:

There are 68 replies to replies and 68 of them are locked this way
For now I can’t tell exactly why this happening, but it surely does not happen too often.

So generally users can reply to a post or to another reply, but sometimes a reply hangs to itself.

Not sure if this helps anyone?

I’m having the same problem. Have a coder on it so will post the results hopefully when its fixed. The only thing I can think of is I redid my forum categoroes the other day. I changed them from being forums of a parent forum into being forums with no parent. I made them stand alone forums and those are the ones Im having trouble with.

    Ta John,

I need to look into this as currently I am using amr user list for a list of members. Hmm. Never knew BuddyPress profiles even existed. Maybe I should combine the two – both BBPress and BuddyPress? Ive read that sometimes the two dont play well togfether so am a bit worried about that. The BBPress profiles are quite basic I think, so would you say that BuddyPress is the same regarding layout etc? Also, going off topic slightly – amr has a search function….is there a way via the BBPress or BuddyPress registration to add a location field that people have to fill in via a drop down menu and not a text box. At the moment I have a text box location in my BBPress registration thingy but its not mandatory, and also members are adding their locations as UK, United Kingdom, Britain, England and such so I have to go in and edit those to say United Kingdom so they come up in the search. Does my message make sense? Ive just got up! Thanks.

Hello all. I’ve been reading the boards to see if their is a BBPress PM thingy and it seems we need to install BuddyPress and use their PM system? But I’ve also read that some people have had problems integrating the two? I might give this a go, but in the meantime I am using Cartpauj PM which works well. Not as streamlined as I would like it but it does the job.

Just to say I sorted it. My pages were going to the trash bin for some reason. So check that if anyone else has the same issue.
