Thanks for this. I have had a go this morning and tried adding a bbpress.php duplicate of several different files (index, post, page..) none of which seemed to make a difference.
Apparently the Customizr theme structure is a little complex and the theme is split in parts, i can’t say i understand all that much but that seems to be the problem!
At least for now i have gone with a function which removes the “forums” breadcrumb and prevents linking to that page which i have replaced with the static page containing shortcodes.

I just found this and have the same problem with my page not taking precedence. Is there a ticket for this?
Cheers for that, though the forum specific sidebars still don’t appear. I’ll dig a bit deeper!

So back to forum issues. I have created three forums but i seem unable to view them on the landing page which i understand should be http://www.activenaturalist.org.uk/forums/ (?)
I have reset permalinks and made everything public, in case it was some kind of visibility issue. Could this be something to do with my theme?

Thanks for checking. I had made some progress on this but there are now host issues that are preventing me from working on the site! I will update once i can get back on.
