In reply to: Including Youtube video embeds?
The original bbVideo plugin works with bbPress 0.9:

There’s also a new plugin that works with bbPress 1.0:

Well, yes… that is annoying. A link to an individual post is great and useful. The weird behavior that’s in your test install isn’t quite right.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – Updatesthis is something that other forum software has had for years and something we can do pretty easily.
Yes, this is something I’ve wanted in bbPress… in my install of 0.9.0.6, I edited my CSS file so that I can at least have posts numbered… it’s easy to say “See post number 24” rather than cut and paste or re-explain something in a topic. Glad to see this functionality in the plugin.

In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – UpdatesUsing Rich’s test site, I enabled email notification for certain threads, but haven’t seen a single notification. Is that not working yet?
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – Updates@DeysonOrtiz: Are you uploading the files in binary mode?
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – UpdatesIs the New Topic form supposed to be in the sidebar? I noticed that the reply form is fine… right underneath the current posts, as expected.
Here’s a screen capture of my test install:

In reply to: Justin Tadlock's Forum Plugin for WPThanks for the update, and thanks to Justin for contributing code.
A side note: I still don’t understand why healthy debate is considered “drama.”

In reply to: [Search] Plugin: Jump to last read postNot sure if it works with 1.x, but I’ve been using it on my 0.9 forum:

Look through the comments to see if there are any issues/changes for 1.x.

In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – Updatesbbpress wordpress plugin delayed??
I don’t think anybody has ever said the plugin would be released on October 15 (formerly September 15). We’re looking at a soft release of an early testable version (there’s probably a better word for that, maybe pre-alpha? I don’t know, I’m not a coder).
EDIT: JJJ said this in the original thread:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-plugin-september-15
Quick update – Aiming for October 15 for the aforementioned super-pre-alpha.
So, super-pre-alpha it is!
We won’t see a usable version for some time. But the community can start testing and reporting bugs now.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – Updates@citizenkeith – silly question, but did you activate the child theme?
Doh! (Insert head smack smilie here).
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – Updates@citizenkeith – you need to copy the bbp-twentyten directory to your themes directory, or it doesn’t work correctly.
I did this, but still no luck. I tried both the bbpress plugin theme directory and the wordpress theme directory.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – UpdatesFirst of all, you need to enable the TwentyTen child theme from Appearance. Then, you need to create a new page, give it a title and then select bbPress – Forum Index in Template Select Box in Page Attributes section (below Publish button).
When following these instructions, I don’t see bbPress in the Template Select Box.
Lots of people use 0.9. It’s fast and lean.
In reply to: bbPress article deleted from Wikipedia? You can’t really blame them, since bbPress is pretty much abandoned right now with no serious wide-spread usage.
What makes you think it’s been abandoned?
The Fins must think bbPress is notable:
In reply to: Music pluginIt would be much simpler if you simply hosted the MP3 on another server, then use a plugin that recognizes .mp3 links and calls up the appropriate flash (or better yet, HTML5).
This is how Facebook does it. Simply use the “link” icon in your Status Update menu, link to an MP3 file, and Facebook does the rest.
XSPF is an open source music player. Perhaps it could be used in conjunction with a plugin.

Then again, this will all probably be moot once bbPress becomes a WP plugin.
In reply to: Mystique Theme PortThank you! It looks great. I’ll probably use this theme for one of my sites.
In reply to: Music pluginSomething like this would be nice:

Are you using integration with WP? Deep? What version of bbPress are you using?
I don’t have answers for you, but if anybody is going to help you, they will need that information.
In reply to: Taking a look at bbPress 0.9With normal users in a healthy forum with a sense of community, duplicates will self correct. People will create unique pictures to identify themselves.
Not the best solution in terms of usability however.
