In reply to: What directory should I install bbPress into?
Yes, you can install it at mydomain.com/forum, beside your blog, and you can integrate them.
In reply to: When bbpress 1.0.3?It might be different but it doesn’t matter. It’s just taking advantage of leaving the closing php tag off.

In reply to: Rss issue in trunk versionAccording to the trac ticket, the problem was caused by a “force-login” plugin.
In reply to: When bbpress 1.0.3?The only one I know of with answers to your questions is Matt Mullenweg. I don’t know if he’s put anyone in charge, but ultimately the responsibility is his.
In reply to: When bbpress 1.0.3?Trunk right now is a little bit unstable. There were a couple of search related bugs that were not fixed properly.
You can test it, but not in a production environment, please.
In reply to: When bbpress 1.0.3?I think the leader is Matt. I haven’t heard otherwise and he’s the one who suggested we should release 1.1 rather than 1.0.3.
My money is the next release being called 1.1.
In reply to: When bbpress 1.0.3?I think the next release is going to be 1.1 instead of 1.0.3. And there will probably not be any more releases in the 0.9 branch (although there were one or two fixes after 0.9.0.3).
Not sure when 1.1 will be released. Maybe after all the 1.1 tickets are cleared up:
The reason for 1.1 instead of 1.0.3 is the addition of two new features:
login-less posting
subscribe to topic
in addition to the bug fixes.
In reply to: Submitting registration form results in blank pageThat’s probably it – conflict with how you’re loading wp-load.php.
How are you loading wp-load.php and does the file actually exist in the location you are using in bb-config.php.
It would be easier if you could see the errors, but it’s something to do with the integration. Glad you mentioned that.
In reply to: How to remove backticks option from acting asIf it can’t be done without hacking the core, then maybe you should open a ticket at trac. If it’s a good idea, it will be incorporated into core.
In reply to: Submitting registration form results in blank pageIt would be strange if you were using the default theme and no plugins and it would do this. Especially if you did not modify any core files. Did the trouble first start after you made modifications?
Not all hosts have error logs enabled.
In reply to: Same forum using http and httpsRescued from Akismet
In reply to: Submitting registration form results in blank pageIf you get a blank screen, it’s likely due to a 500 Internal Server Error. Do you have access to error logs?
In reply to: Send email to all members?Marius- you have a long record of being abusive and less than cooperative here when looking for advice. I would like you to treat the volunteers here with respect and refrain from this type of commentary. If you’re unable to treat others here with respect I will ensure that your requests for help here go unanswered.
zaerl’s first suggestion was good to get all the email addresses from your bbPress installation. How you email them all is up to you and not part of the focus of this forum “Fixing it when it’s broke.”
Any comments, please feel free to email me at chrishajer AT gmail [dot] com
In reply to: Security ConcernI get it now: half the access information, i.e. the username. The password being the other half. Rather than break things, I’d probably lock down bb-admin using some of the WordPress security tips.
In reply to: Security ConcernHow is this a security concern? I don’t get it.
Looks like the bbPress forum footer.php is trying to load a WordPress file? For this integration, maybe you should find the file that’s being referred to (_contentfooter.php) and just hard code the path to it, rather than relying on the constant THEME_LIB, which doesn’t appear to be working.
One problem at a time.
Also, it’s just a warning, although it’s warning you something is not working. On a production site, you should not display warnings. During development, it’s good to see them, even if they’re just logged, so you can fix problems like this.
In reply to: Post Count (5 posts +1 more)What is the issue? You’re a little sparse on information there.
In reply to: What happens when bbPress becomes a plugin?I don’t think anyone knows. I wouldn’t wait around for an answer. My advice would be to just go ahead with your forum and deal with the future when it arrives.
In reply to: Where is the bbpress Dashboard? When you log in to your forum, as keymaster or administrator, the link for administration will be present. Until you are logged in with permissions, accessing bb-admin directly like that will just keep redirecting you to the forum home.
If you are already logged in but trying to access bb-admin, chances our the user account you are using is not the keymaster or administrator.
Did you integrate with WordPress?
In reply to: Security ConcernNot sure if this is spam or not, but you are in control of your username when you register. Register with a name that you are comfortable sharing with the world.
In fact, if I delete this one post, no one will ever know there is a profile here for you unless they can guess the name.
In reply to: cannot start installerChances are you did not set you database host. It’s hidden at the end of the database settings as an “advanced setting”. So, after you enter the database name, database user and password, tick the box and find the database host, and enter your host name there. If you don’t enter something there, bbPress looks on
localhost
. If your database is not located there, it won’t work.Do you have a database host setting to enter?
EDIT: it seems sort of weird that you are getting this error now before having started the installation. Did you edit the bb-config.php manually before going to that URL? Or was there forum software installed here before?
In reply to: How to change adress forum? In reply to: When bbpress 1.0.3?gerikg, to make a feature request, open a ticket in trac and mark it as an enhancement under “type”.
In reply to: Error during instillationbbPress is not a plugin for WordPress. It should not be installed in wp-content/plugins, like a WordPress plugin.
You probably want to put it here:
/home/content/88/6235388/html/bbpress/
Then you can access it at the URL of your website, plus bbpress, like
http://www.example.com/bbpress
to start the installation.
Rename the bbpress folder to something you want to be visible online. Here it is called forums, but you can call it forum or discussion or community.
In reply to: Whoa! (bbPress.org 2.0 is live)But then, the code in this post is fine:
Maybe the previous one was edited and that’s where the trouble started?
