Over the last few weeks, I’ve experienced the same problem with spammers on one of the forums I’ve set up. Akismet hasn’t worked, no-spam-user hasn’t worked, recaptcha hasn’t worked. Anyone have any success blocking this new generation of spambots? (I love bbpress but seeing the same spam here is disheartening.)

You have bbpress installed as a plugin and it’s not a plugin.
What folder did you unzip your theme into? You shouldn’t have to create a seperate folder in your my-templates dierctory for it.
I can’t think of any reason not to just repeat the same process for all 24.

Where exactly is the “talk” directory? In your root?
That index.php definitely should not be showing up where you have it.
Use backticks ( ` ) to display code. Place one before the code and one after.
The latest versions of wordpress and bbpress are the most secure and bbpress is designed to integrate with wp. The only possible advantage to keeping an older version of bbpress is the amount of plugins that have not been updated to ensure compatability (in other words, if you want a lot of plugins, stick with 0.9 until the ones you can’t live without are brought up to speed. My recommendation – upgrade now that you don’t have too many plugins to worry about).
If you’re going to upgrade bbpress, do it first.
Install wordpress and integrate with bbpress. Basic (shallow) integration eliminates the need for users to log in to each seperately.
I’m a little confused by your post. When you say “activate the WP integration,” do you mean completed all the steps during your initial install to integrate bbpress with wordpress, or do you mean you activated the WP/bbPress integration plugin?
Were you able to access the dashboard before?
InvTrdr, did you follow all of the installation instructions, i.e. activating the plugin and setting the options?
I only ask because you mention other little steps like “clicking on Upload,” but haven’t confirmed that you have completed every other direction outlined on the plugin page.(Which is where this discussion should really be, by the way.)

The plugin doesn’t need to go above HTML. Make sure you have followed all the directions for installation correctly.
Did you fix the problem? I see the posts fine when I click on them.
I think it was IE 6, snails07. I’m at home now and everything looks good in IE 8, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
I think there should be at least a minimal psychological barrier to prevent thoughtless, spontaneous posts from visitors who might never return anyway.

I viewed the forum from the computer at my “day job” (otherwise known as the POS with antique innards) and the login form was floating at the top right corner and nothing above it was visible.
It does look nice, but there’s no registration for new members. Intentional?
You might want to think about asking/hiring someone to do it for you.
Not sure what you’re asking for, exactly.
What other kind of way are you looking for?
