Are there any limits on the number of sign ups in forums? Does WordPress limit that either?

Automatically subscribe to topic

Published on July 23rd, 2017 by Rixter

Hi there,

On my site people have to manually check ‘Notify me of follow up-replies via e-mail’.
I would like this checkbox to be default checked instead of people having to actively check the box themselves.
How can this be done?

(it might be just a setting 🙂 since I read someone asked the exact same thing 8 months ago, but vice versa (how to default UNcheck this)).

How to set a forum category as the index of the forum?

Published on July 23rd, 2017 by bobibrown0

Hi everyone,

I think the title is clear. Is it possible (with some coding) to display a specific forum category as the index of the forum?

I tried using shortcodes in content-archive-forum, I wasn’t expecting much, and… I didn’t get much results.

Any clue?

Can i replace “Create new topic”?

Published on July 23rd, 2017 by locutus1

Hi. I have 2 main forums both with sub-forums. If I go into any forum I see “create new topic” which is the default. That’s fine for the first main forum but I would like to change it for the 2nd main forum. I want all the sub-forums of the 2nd main forum to display something else instead of “Create new topic”. Is that possible? I’m guessing this might be possible with CSS. I’m dealing with many forums so do I have to specify every forum one by one or is there one command that can be applied to the 2nd main forum and it would impact every sub-forum? Thanks.

Forum link in breadcrumb not working

Published on July 22nd, 2017 by psychey

The breadcrumb in bbpress is great to let us see where we are in the forum, but when I want to go back to the main page to see all forums, I click on the word ‘Forums’ in the breadcrumb… but it doesn’t take me back to that page. Instead, it just seem to refresh the page I am on. Any advise and help to get that working?

Sticky topic appearing in more than one forum

Published on July 22nd, 2017 by psychey

Hi, I have created a sticky topic in a private forum, but it is appearing in another private forum as well. I have only two private forums and both are restricted for two different groups of users. This sticky topic does not appear in other non-private forums.

I have tried removing the Sticky option for this topic and also changed the ‘Forum’ to a non-private one and it appears in BOTH the non-private forum that I have chosen, and BOTH the private forums – all non-Sticky.

I don’t know why this is happening. Help?
