I’m setting up a bbpress forum linked to a WP blog. Is there any way I can show the latest posts of the blog in the forums sidebar?
The forums and the blog use the same database, is there any way to get the latest posts from the database. If not, maybe reading the RSS of the blog, using a function like wp_rss() in WP.

Has anyone drafted a script that will import a Simple Machines Forum into bbPress? And if not, anyone savvy enough with enough free time on their hands to put one together?

Well I’ve got a link in my gmail that I have a trac thingy for my plugin. Well great…. only how the hell do I use this. First of all, the link in my gmail aint working properly (page isn’t loading all the stuff when clicking the link)

tags
trunk
What are they for? What files do I put in them and in which one? The trac help is too massive to figure out these noob questions, so a small easy sumary would be nice…
As a noob this A: doesn’t work (link in email is wacky) and B: I have no idea where to start or what to upload where…

Is there a plugin available that will allow me to restrict New Topic Creation to certain individuals? I’ve looked at the forum moderators plugin and the private forums plugin but neither of these seem to work.
I need all members to be able to reply but only certain members able to begin a new topic. Does such capabilities currently exist? Thanks.
It looks like “my-templates” is actually now “bb-templates” but the information on https://bbpress.org/documentation/themes/ doesn’t reflect that.

If you visit https://bbpress.org/forums/bb-login.php and use the top-most login form (the one in header.php), a recursive redirect occurs, which displays an error message in Safari. (I haven’t tested it in other browsers.)
This happens in all bbPress installations using the default template (and a few other templates that include the login form in the header). Is there a way to avoid this situation?
I am currently trying to install bbpress simply because zeroboard hates me. I have changed the info in my config.php file as I should have and see no problems, yet when I run install.php I get the following error:

After a lot of trial and error, lots of frustration I give you:
bbMenu 1.0
What does it do?
It adds a menu to you bbPress site. You can edit the menu in the admin page (Content->Menu) by just drag & drop the menu items in the order you want.
Installation instructions and some documentation are included in the .zip
To do:
– Rename the menu items by doubble clicking them and then put in your desired name.
– Add an bbMenu_installed check so theme builders can make their theme’s compatible for bbMenu aswell as for non bbMenu users. (It will check if the bbMenu is installed.) Ideas about how to do this are more then welcome!!!
