Hi folks… Love this software. The style and vibe just can’t be beat!
I’ve been running bbPress for about 6 weeks. I have received many complaints about registration emails not coming. I finally tracked down the following error in the Sendmail logs:
stat=Data format error
The frustrating part is that it is intermittent. Sometimes I see ‘stat=Sent (OK…’ and the user gets the email. Many times, no email.
Has anyone seen this? Any idea why this is happening?
Hi Guys,
This is prob a very simple thing to do, but after hours of scouring the forums I still can’t find the solution. I have bbpress installed with wordpress, I’ve done all the back-end integration, I know that front-end integration is possible but I’ll leave that for another day. So how do you go about creating a hyper-link on bbpress that will redirect users back to my wordpress blog ? All I need is just a simple link-type button.
Thanks!

Hi, I did a brazilian portuguese translation for last version of bbPress. Portugal users can use it too since I cared about using words used for Brazilian and Portugal Portuguese language.

The 2 key issues are server uptime and email reliability.
In the short 4 months that my forum has been running, I’ve had so many incidences of users registering 2 usernames. I’ve come to learn that the 2nd one is out of frustration that the email containing the password did not arrive.
This weekend, I have had no outbound email and sick of spending money on AdWords to bring in people that can’t sign up.
Apart from the registration email, I am using both Auto Favorite & Post Notification plugins. Therefore, reliable email is very important to maintain posting activity.
I’ve read alot about concerns that bbPress isn’t sending email. After extensive testing and in my situation, the problem is with the host.
I’m looking to avoid dedicated hosting at this time because my day job is funding this venture already. Can anyone recommend a hosting service that offers good reliability in both uptime and email?
hi i was wondering if there is a way to get bbpress to run on a flat-file insted of my sql
i really need this so if you can write something i’d like that too
Something my forum users have been complaining about is the lack of ability for paging on the various views, whether built-in ones or the extended ones available through the my-views plugin.
I’ve not yet looked into this, but I figured I’d drop a line here to see if somebody had already solved it (searched with no results)
I’ve got the newest bbpress and the newest WP setup and I managed to get them to share the same cookie name fairly easily.
However the cookie value changes between the two installs for reasons I cannot seem to figure out. One forces the other to logout because of this.
The cookie value seems to be made from the user name | expiration time | hash
Essentially the expiration and hash are changing and I don’t know why.
Logic tells me that the expiration is probably changing because of the hash changing? so why is the hash being calculated differently between the installs?
Does anyone else have the two trunks working together or am I the first guinea pig?
Is it possible to designate one board as an announcement board where only admins can create new topics but anyone can view and reply to them?
I tried installing the Restrict Forums plugin but that was buggy and doesn’t seem to be supported any more. The Private Forums works great, but only hides a forum from view.
Are there any other plugins that I am missing that might be able to provide this functionality?
Has anyone experience an issue with the rss forum feed of recent posts being empty? I’ve checked my php logs and no errors are showing up. I’m running the latest version of bbPress installed in the /forums/ directory.
