Hi everybody
I have created a new forum for my site, Retro Garden.
Integration is almost seamless in FF, and pretty close in IE, so let me know what you think! And any suggestions to improve it.
Hi everybody
I’m finally going to do a proper BBPress forum, and integrating it with one of my sites (http://www.retrogarden.co.uk/). The forum is here (http://www.retrogarden.co.uk/forum/)
I have two small questions though:
1. How do I edit the look of the login form? At the moment it can be construed as confusing as the width of the column makes it look terrible.
2. On a topic page (http://retrogarden.co.uk/forum/topic/your-first-topic), how do I edit the look of this page? Which template is it in? I want to remove the border around the gravatar, and expand the size of the post content at the expense of the post author information
Could it be that posts retain as metadata the forum in which they where originally posted and when you move the entire topic they do not change said metadata? If this is bbPress behaviour and I move a topic to another forum, then all the subsequent posts made under this topic (prior to me moving it) are linking (the forum_id field) to the old forum and not the new one.
Did this make any sense?
Because this turns to be a problem when using a plugin like “Hidden forums” for example. I move a hidden topic with a lot of responses to a public forum (not hidden) but only the first posts become visible to those users who can’t access the hidden forum. You have to edit the other posts so the forum_id gets updated and those posts are linked to the new forum.
I got to step one of the bbPress installer and I get this:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_specialchars() in /Users/onekopaka/Sites/bbpress/bb-includes/wp-functions.php on line 35
Should I remove the call or do i need to find where it is defined?
I have a subversion installation of WordPress which works excellent. should i replace the wp-functions.php in bbPress with the WordPress one?
Is there a theme which has built in all the needs of the plugin but would get activated only when the plugins activated? Most of the theme requires manual addition of the scripts.
Hello;
I’m semi-new to (though not totally new) to PHP and I don’t always know how things should fit together. I’ve been trying to follow the instructions here: http://www.adityanaik.com/integratepress-part-i/
But I’m not exactly sure where to put the code that is suggested. I know white space matters in php and probably where in the files you place the particular code.
I was wondering if I could see an example of a bb-config.php file that had all of this done correctly so I would know where to put things so they would work.
Thank you very much!

For the life of me I cannot get rid of the bar underneath the header in firefox 3. The bar underneath the main header image is just the table the header is sitting in expanded slightly showing the background image.
This doesn’t happen in IE, but always in firefox. I’ve tried everything.
Thanks for the help!
Hi and thanks for bbpress and the plugins.
I integrated wordpress and bbpress in my site with some plugins.
In the log of my host I find this error:
[Thu Jun 12 13:57:36 2008] [error] PHP Warning: parse_url(/2008/06/urlofpostofwordpress//appserv/main.php?appserv_root=http://www.cdpm3.com/id.txt???) [<a href='function.parse-url'>function.parse-url</a>]: Unable to parse url in /home/teayudoe/public_html/foros/bb-includes/functions.php on line 1794
I have the same errors with anothers urls/scripts
http://www.iglesialcs.cl/newweb/cache/id2.txt
And the last week I saw other similar errors
I investigated the urls and I think are script to attack servers
I’m not worried about the safety of my site, I believe that these script can not do anything, what I am wrong?
It is possible to fix the error by putting @ forward parse_url functions.php on line 1794 (http://derekgendron.com/blog/?p=33)
I have to worry?
Thanks
Pd. Sorry for my english. The English is not my mother tongue
Since the latest Trunk changes (Changeset 8069) in WordPress Core, the bbPress Login (if shared with WordPress) is not working anymore.
I think its because of the logged_in cookie, isn`t it?
I know, trunk.. but 2.5.x will sure come soon
Have a nice day
