404 error when accessing “closed” topic

Published on September 22nd, 2020 by itspriyanka

Hi,

I went to a topic in my wordpress admin and selected “closed” under “Topic Attributes->Status”. When I go to the forum, the topic is now greyed out. When I click on the topic title, it goes to a 404 error page.

Is there anything else that I need to do to make sure “closed” works as expected? I tried saving permalinks again, but that did not help.

My forums are “members only” so not able to send link.

Thanks,
Priyanka

bbPress doesn’t display sidebars with Twenty-Seventeen

Published on September 21st, 2020 by lxking

I can’t seem to get bbPress to display sidebars on its forum pages in the Twenty-Seventeen theme. I’m using the “Custom Sidebar” plug-in to give me a specific sidebar for bbPress pages. The sidebar is displayed properly if I switch to the Twenty-Sixteen theme, but not Twenty-Seventeen.

I’m on WordPress v. 5.5.1
I have bbPress v. 2.6.5
Custom Sidebars v. 3.2.3
Here’s my site: https://www.cslportland.org/

Note, I also tried making all of my plugins inactive (except for bbPress and Custom Sidebars) to see if that would help. I still could not get a sidebar to appear on forum pages.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I really need the sidebar to facilitate using the bbPress forum.

Hi
I deleted your plugin, but why do I still see the “bbp_keymaster” written on my profile like this: https://prnt.sc/ukykwt ? How do I delete it?
Thank you

permalinks

Published on September 21st, 2020 by dlewey

Hi

My permalink looks like this for all forum pages. The double use of forum. It looks unnecessary and is appearing in site tests as an issue. In edit, I have no option to remove. Instead I will have to create a 301 for all the topics. Is there a reason for this double use and can it be removed? thanks

Book recommends

Using version 2.65 on the latest WP.

BBPress Import Help

Published on September 20th, 2020 by gm4aff

I need a little help with the BBpress converter. I am importing data (4000 users) from a phpBB (latest version) database in the locahost database. The converter consistently just goes straight to ‘Stopped’ no matter what I do.

Where is the log for this utility so I can debug?

Thanks,
Stewart

Xenforo 2.1 Import

Published on September 20th, 2020 by Hamed Azimi

Hello,

When I try to import forums and users from our Xenforo forum, it doesn’t work. Our Xenforo version is 2.1.5.

Is there a plan to support this version of Xenforo? Seems like the latest supported version to import is 1.4.2 which is unsupported version for many years now. Even Xenforo 2.0 is no longer supported.

Thanks

Is there any function to get the Topic URL?

Published on September 20th, 2020 by Pawan

I am sending a custom email notification to the forum subscribers to notify any new topic created. Now I also want to send a Link to the newly created topic.
I tried
bbp_topic_permalink
found it in the loop single topic file. But it showing blank. Even I tried to pass the topic_id as argument.

I also tried
bbp_get_topic_url()
but it is also not working.

It would be a great help if some one tell the exact function to get the url of the topic.

Error Time zone

Published on September 18th, 2020 by Anonymous User 17274932

My country’s time zone is UTC+8
When I set the time zone UTC+8 for WordPress, the time of posting the topic and replying is correct.
But my registration time will default to 8 hours before 1 minute… and so on
If I set the WordPress time zone to UTC+0, the registration time is normal, but the theme posting and reply time will increase by 8 hours.
