Hello,

We’ve implemented bbPress on our site recently, which is essentially a community forum for clients in our B2B software company. It’s currently operational with basic theme in place, and we already have posters who are active on it.

However, there are a few bugs here and there, some layout issues, and we’d like to implement some plugins that may require a bit of customization. Thus, we’re wondering if there are any bbPress developers out there who would be willing to help us.

I’m a bit new here on this forum, so I’m not exactly sure what the protocol is for looking for contractors.

I am trying to use Derleth Bright as a forum theme inside a wordpress page and need to have the theme modified.

I’ve tried contacting Garry Vander Voort but every route I try to reach him results in a dead end.

Who else should I consider calling to get this theme modified?

Is there a template tag or function to get the uri to your template file? So far, all I’ve been able to find is <?php bb_option('url'); ?>, but that just returns the uri to the base directory. Is there one that will display the uri to the template directory? Like in WordPress (<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>)?

How do I restrict a forum or even just a topic so that only members can view it?

I don’t want to only block posting of replies… I want to completely block a certain topic to guests so that they cannot see it.

I have seen the hidden forum plugin but it looks like more work than it’s worth… is there a simpler solution?

What is the easiest way (as of the latest BBPress release) to get the avatars for ‘topic’ authors?

I have avatars showing correctly for ‘posts’ with <?php post_author_avatar_link(); ?>

but it doesn’t seem to work correctly for the first post in topics and on the front page.

I’ve seen some other posts on this, but so far no elegant solutions. Any help?

Although the attachement(s) per _ck_’s plugin are anywhere in a topic, the paperclip icon is added to the last page icon only in case the postings span more than one page (as defined in topics_per_page).

This is a cosmetic issue of both plugins used together in 0.9.0.6 and eventually could be taken care of during further development by _ck_ and others involved in the Attachments plugin development.

Is it possible to change the language after installation of bbPress? If yes, can you please tell me how to do it? I already uploaded the .mo & .po files in a new folder called “my-languages”.

I want to use Wishlist member to protect a page called Forum – with the slug shiftselling.com/forum.

That means I need to move the files for the forum to a different directory – currently shiftselling.com/forum.

Should I move it or rename it?

Should it be moved to a directory or a sub domain?

I am also trying find what code I could put into a the page called forum that would display the forum inside my page.
