Reload Problem!

Published on March 16th, 2011 by turuncu

It is very weird problem. Sometimes If click any link my site. bbpress stops and page not reload after 5-10 second, works again.

I suppose the reason is changed permalinks in functions.bb-template. I change topic and tags links.

Problem With Deleted Thread

Published on March 16th, 2011 by Death Road

The forum that I am a moderator of is currently running bbPress versoin 1.0.2.

The problem that wwe ahve experienced is one of our moderators accidentally deleted an entire topic. Whenever we enter the admin section and go to undelete the entire topic, it just leads us to a blank page and it doesn’t ever undelete the thread.

Is there a way to fix this or are we screwed?

Unable to change themes!

Published on March 15th, 2011 by danzo123

Not sure why I can’t change the theme to my bbPress at the moment.

I have created a new root directory called ‘my-templates’ and the permission is set to ‘755’

Yet, the theme doesn’t show up in my bbPress CMS.

I was able to change the theme yesterday, but not today for some reason. And my current theme (custom) isn’t even showing up in the root directory right now with the default kakumei themes where I uploaded it.

Any ideas?

Forums crazy slow

Published on March 15th, 2011 by tyskkvinna

My forums- http://www.thegeekgroup.org/bb –

are running ridiculously slow. A new post takes roughly 30 seconds to a full minute to go through, and we’re getting a lot of people double-posting unintentionally. (A LOT of people) Sometimes it just times out, and people then hit refresh, and find out that they in fact posted 3 or 4 times…. or it just times out and the post is lost.

All other stuff running on my server is fine, including a WordPress install, so I have to believe it is central to the BBPress installation.

This has been happening for a few weeks/maybe a month or two. Would love insight as to how I can make this move along faster.

How to exclude [closed] topics from latest discussion?

Published on March 15th, 2011 by gunnsean

I use bbPress to run a trouble-shooting site. So when labeled closed that means the problem is solved.

I want to exclude [closed] topics from latest discussion in the front page. Is there anyway to do so? Sadly my expertise don’t lie in PHP. :P

bbPress Plugin: Theme Structure

Published on March 15th, 2011 by stockable.net

@johnjamesjacoby

Will current theme structure of the Twenty Ten theme that is currently bundled with the bbPress plugin remain the same? I understand that some features will be added with the official release, but I am eager to release compatible themes.

Permalinks stop working when they are set to Month and name?

Published on March 14th, 2011 by alexchenco

The default works OK:

http://localhost/taiwantalk/?bbp_forum=technology

But setting the Permalinks to Month and name gives me a no found page.

http://localhost/taiwantalk/forums/forum/technology/

mod_rewrite is working as usual.

Any suggestions?

BBPress installed – WordPress disappeared.

Published on March 14th, 2011 by cclynes

Hi

I am relatively new to wordpress and bbpress and I am trying to install a forum onto one single page in my wordpress blog.

I installed BBpress but now when I try to visit my sie it takes me to my BBpress log in (please see www.the8lossplan.com)

I did not want my whole blog to be a forum, have I put the files in the wrong folder or is there something else I have done wrong?!

Please help – for a university project I absolutely have to finish tonight :(

Thanks!!

If anyone knows how to set this up for me I’m happy to give them my details to help set up?

I am using GoDaddy as my webhosting.

soundcloud embed

Published on March 14th, 2011 by benwayy

hallo there. I’m having trouble finding a way to get soundcloud embeds working within the bbpress that comes with buddypress. While the soundcloud plugin makes it straightforward to embed the players into standard wordpress posts, it isn’t recognised by bbpress. Has anybody had an experience of getting soundcloud embeds working in bbpress?

Members see themselves as inactive when they are not

Published on March 14th, 2011 by joshualynch

After several years of running bbPress on a forum, today a member pointed out that when they’re logged in and make a post, their member status is shown as “inactive” even though they are clearly active and to everyone else, they are labeled a Member.

This was the first report of this issue, but sure enough others, including moderators, noticed it today when we checked.

We’re running bbPress 1.0.2 integration with WP 3.1. We recently switched from WP Super Cache to W3 Total Cache so have been wondering if somehow that introduced the bug.

After googling around for awhile, the only thing I found about the issue was this old post on the BuddyPress forums of all things that says this is a known bug in bbPress: http://bit.ly/i0RlpS

Is that true? Is their anything we can do to fix this so users don’t get confused that they’re suddenly “inactive”?
