Hi all,
I am currently running a multi-site wordpress site which has separate bbpress installations, as there are common forums, plus private ones for each sub site. As I needed multiple different private forums I though this was the best method to achieve this. I was wondering if it is possible to, using shortcode or otherwise, show a list of forums from more than one subsite on a page?
So my Hosting Provider gives me unlimited MySql Database’s but they can only be 1Gig in size. I am wondering how WordPress, BuddyPress, and yes bbPress is going to handle this. Can I set a seperate database up for each of my topics in the Forums? Will MySql simply start up a second database when the first one fills? Just not sure how this is going to affect the site, if at all. Any thoughts?
Looking at ‘archive-forum.php’ and it looks like one call is made for a mass amount of data. On the resulting screen www.goodintoday.com/discussions how do I filter out the description area and also turn off the ‘freshness’ thing?
So I read on here how I needed to copy the files from bbp-twentyten into my own Child Theme’s directory and it was a WOW moment. I have now narrowed down the controlling files for my /discussions directory, the topics area, and even the actual postings on the forums so that’s GREAT! I have an issue however…
I use Suffusion as my Theme and everything was fine. Directly after copying the files over to my Child Theme folder all of my sidebars decided that they no longer wanted to be sidebars. I can’t figure it out. They’re all directly under the main content folder instead of next to it, even though the space is still there for them. Any idea as to why they’re now scared and hiding?
The title says it all.
I’m running WP 3.2.1, BP 1.5 & BBP 2.0.
I’ve installed the exact same setup on two sites, one works perfect, the other doesn’t.
All I see in the source is:
<a href="http://thegamersrepublic.org/members/pixel/" title="View 's profile" rel="nofollow"></a>
Example of where its happening: http://thegamersrepublic.org/forums/topic/armageddon/
I haven’t edited the source of BBP, and I’m not sure what causing it.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks.
When I paste a youtube link into a bbPress 2.0 forum posting or reply it comes out as a link.
When I paste the same youtube link into a buddyPress 1.5 broup forum it comes back as I expected (like wordpress) as an embedded video.
Is there a way to get the two versions of bbPress to act the same?
Thanks, and please forgive my ignorance if this is a simple, obvious configuration setting that somehow I overlooked.

So I’m using WordPress, BuddyPress, bbPress, and wrapping Suffusion ( with BP addon ) around those. Oh and using my own Theme so I can make modifications, if I need too ( Child Theme under Suffusion ). In any event my question is…
How do I remove the Comment Box from the Topic’s Page’s in my Forums? There is a Reply Box, for posting in the Forum, and directly under that is the normal Comment Box for replying to a new Posting ( Like if I’d Posted a new Blog Posting ). The Reply Box actually needs to be there, obviously. But the Comment Box is not needed and unsightly, since the Reply Box is directly above it.
Is it possible to allow bbPress users to view a subset of another user’s profile information?
Why is there a complete list of web pages at the bottom of my forum page???
i dont want this to be there.
anyone know?
How can I delete unusefull tags and users in bbpress?Thank you!
