Stop Greying Out Closed Posts & editing post problems

Published on February 19th, 2012 by nomcom

hey guys is there any way to stop closed posts from being closed? when i close a post at the moment it makes the text of the title become greye d out which makes it rather difficult to read, not particularly great for forum rules posts etc when your on a light background.

Secondly

It would appear that there is an issue with editing posts, I just made a post using an admin account and then attempted to edit a mistake i had made, and while it brought up the text box to allow me to edit it didnt give me any buttons etc with which to save the edit, any ideas?

List POSTS by latest first on home page instead of TOPICS

Published on February 19th, 2012 by theap

I would like to list comments by most recent on the Home page of my Forum.

At the moment only Topic with the latest comment entry comes up fist, but I would like to have list of comments, like here for example:

http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?code=cotn:UKX.L&display=discussion&it=li

i guess what I need is similar to bbpress forum where you can click to view latest topics or latest posts, but I’d like to have latest comments listed by default.

Many thanks in advance!

Using BBPress on a Thematic Child Theme

Published on February 19th, 2012 by residentmeevil

Hey everyone!

Just freshly installed BBPpress, and I’m now looking for a way to style it to match my sites look and feel.

How would I go about moving templates into my child theme?

Question about integrating bbPress profile on Buddypress profile

Published on February 19th, 2012 by funnycat777

Hello,

In bbPress user profile section, there is a section called 1) Subscribed Forum Topics, 2) Favorite Forum Topics, 3) Forum Topics Created. In Buddypress user profile section, there is a section called forums (if you enable discusstion forum as a Buddypress component), and there are links to 1) Topics Started and 2) Replied to within it.

I would like to keep the buddypress user profile, disable discussion forums of buddypress, and use the bbpress site-wide forum as my main forum component. Is there a way to add a forum link to the bbpress site-wide forum on an buddypress user profile, and have 1) Subscribed Forum Topics, 2) Favorite Forum Topics, 3)Forum Topics Created and 4) Replied to as a link below it?

Forums link will automatically show up if I enable the discussion forum within Buddypress, but I don’t want to use the Buddypress forum because I am not thinking of creating a group.

Can you advise?

I need help adding BBpress to my webpage

Published on February 18th, 2012 by reve5855

Hello, I must be dumb because I cannot figure this out. I am trying to make just one of my webpages within my site a forum page.

I installed the plugin on my WP interface (I do not use FTP). Everything installed properly because I can see “forum” now in my settings.

My question is how do I now add this plugin to the page that I wish? How do I make that page a forum with this plugin?

Sorry for the ignorance I am new to WP.

How to setup users?

Published on February 18th, 2012 by Oisn

Hey guys, I used the bbpress plugin for my site (which I am hosting locally with Wamp), it installed so easily, looks like user-friendliness seems to be pretty important to you guys. Before I set myself up with an internet hosting client, how do I set the site up so that anybody can register and make read/contribute to my forums?

I am using project site as a forum-only website, so they will not be posting blogs or anything.

I plan to try to get second level students and teachers registering. As many as possible, so i’d like it if i didn’t have to do anything for them to register.

Thanks in advance guys, i’m a major newcomer when it comes to webdesign.

Having bbPress fight spammy posts.

Published on February 18th, 2012 by Zachary Russell

I am an active form user, and want to integrate bbPress with a genesis theme I developed. I am a little curious, however on what my best bet to moderate the forms would be, meaning is there spam blockers (something like akismet?) or can I assign moderators?

Thanks

Zach
