One feature that I struggle a bit in why bbPress broke from the norm is Freshness. It is customary to have the last column for “Last post” which includes the date-time of last post (topic/reply) and the author of last post.
bbPress has decided to use “Freshness” instead of “Last post” as title. Instead of date-time, it displays time-since. Is there an easy way to change this?
I’m technically illiterate so need some help understanding this.
On the bbPress pages, I am using CSS to hide sidebar…something like
.bbp-forum #primary {
display: none;
}
My question is: Is the sidebar is still loaded (on server, in browser) and just not displayed, or do I by simply styling it out of view also save some time on page loading?
Hi there,
i just installed the newest version of the bbpress plugin and I want to have the spanish translation activated. I already uploaded the .mo and .po files but now I don’t find the bb-config.php file anywhere to change the language to es_ES.
Where can I activate the spanish version then?
Any help will be much appreciated.
I have the newest subversion of the 2.1 build and I still can’t find a way to single out just the forum links that contain sub-forums in them with CSS so I can make them look visually different for my users.
Is there something I have to activate or something?
Hello,
I’m using the Post Author (https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-author/) plugin and it’s showing the “Written by” name and date on Sub-forums.
This only happens to sub-forums, sub-categories. Not Top level forums.
I want to get rid of the post author for the sub-forums and sub-categories whilst retaining the author for topics.
How can I do this?
I’m leaving this topic due to a capability problem occurred in my site.
I’m running wp 3.2.1, bbpress 2.0, and user role editor plugin 3.2.1 in my site.
I accidently clicked reset button in user role editor plugin settings, and it seems the writing topics and replies capability in bbpress forum have blocked even to the admin group. WP side is working perfectly fine as it was a day ago.
it seems something has changed in usermeta db but cannot figure out what is exactly needed to fix the problem.
Is there any way to solve this problem fixing usermeta db? or any alternative way to fix the error would be greatly appreciated.
@JJJ: How is 2.1 coming along? Any estimated timelines?
This is probably best directed at JJJ more than anyone… I’m curious if there’s a reason why comments weren’t considered as replies to a topic, rather than a new post for each reply.
I’ve noticed faultpress does this (woothemes forum-esque app theme), it got me thinking and it makes a lot of sense. I wonder if there’s any advantages of doing it this way or the other?
Hi
I want to close just new topics but new replies is open.
please help me?
