Strange behaviour with qTranslate

Published on November 15th, 2012 by Pietro

Hi Everybody, Guys !! ^_^
Please, I have a question.
My Forums shows me this message:

The qTranslate Editor has disabled itself because it hasn't been tested with your WordPress version yet. This is done to prevent WordPress from malfunctioning. You can reenable it by clicking here (may cause data loss! Use at own risk!). To remove this message permanently, please update qTranslate to the corresponding version.

The point is that: Even if when I’ve installed the bbPress qTranslate was not updated, so this message was right … Now qTranslate it is updated, but by the way bbPress doesn’t seems to see the change and it doesn’t shows me forum-contents by language.

The 1.st link in the message (reenable qTranslate) doesn’t works …
What to do, please, if I want to build a multi-language Forum ??

Another deal:
Why bbPress shows me this ugly editor ??

If I click on Visual then it is good, but the 1-st one is the defaul one …

THANK YOU !!
Pietro

User/Contributor Cannot see Administrator's Topic

Published on November 14th, 2012 by L D

The topic title “Navigating Through The Program” is a topic I created in the forum “New Members” of my site. I have a test username and have tried the role of User and Contributor and they can see the title of the topic, but when they click on the topic, only the reply is there and they can’t see the actual topic’s content which the Administrator wrote. How do I get my members to see the topics and posts? I only want them to see and reply on the posts and forums, as well as create their own topics and forums but not create pages or posts in WordPress.

User role setting

OK in the online documentation it mentions the settings for ‘Default user role’ and ‘Auto role’ – where on earth are those settings because I can’t find them in the forum settings.

My new site and forum

Published on November 14th, 2012 by G Hinson White

My goal was to have a blog where I could rave and rant and integrate a forum whereby viewers could interact and post their opinions. My wish list included:

Single log on
It needed to look as part of the blog and not an ‘add-on’
I wanted to be able to create a blog post and be able to automatically create a forum topic with links from each to each.

bbPress was exactly what I needed. I use the Suffusion and a suffusion plugin and here is what I came up with. I would appreciate any thoughts. I think it integrates perfectly.

Restricting User Groups to Forum

Published on November 14th, 2012 by marceloparra

Hello, we are working on a website that is on development and installed BBPress.
The URL is: http://fleet.decostainc.com/forums/

Is it possible to have the forums limited to specific User Groups?

Like subscribers have access only to the Safety forum.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you.

Spam forum registrations

Published on November 14th, 2012 by markthedoc1

Hi

I’m getting a lot of spam registrations to a new forum I’ve created, I was wondering if there’s a way to stop this?

I’ve seen a couple plugins available but they seem to be for bbPress 1.

Any help with this appreciated.

Post Form: Looks different and HTML / Visual toggle not working

Published on November 14th, 2012 by jezza101

Not sure what happened but the posting form on my forum has changed. Unfortunately I did a few plugin upgrades – jetpack, bbpress, genesis bbpress plugin – at the same time, and some other updates to the site so not sure what has caused it.

Wondering if anyone has had this too and could help me identify the cause, and hopefully a fix?

For example, have a look here: http://www.nxtab.co.uk/discussion/forum/off-topic/site-news/

The form buttons have changed and now appear to have taken some styling from the site’s theme (ah could there be a clash of CSS classes perhaps?) and switching between HTML and visual no longer works.

Will be experimenting with disabling and enabling plugins to see if there is a clash.

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.

bbp_clean_post_cache() problem

Published on November 13th, 2012 by Mike Stop Continues

I just recently ported my website from a multisite install to a single install, though I’ve just been transferring content as it was just a dev site anyway. So instead of a database port, I just exported and imported the data I wanted, including my forums/topics/replies.

Anyway, I wasn’t able to post new content (it would just give me an empty page instead) until I changed the bbp_clean_post_cache() function so that the first line is “return;”.

My thought is that the ported forums/topics/replies is what’s caused the problem.

In any case, how do I fix the problem?

Thanks!

Theme Packages

Published on November 13th, 2012 by kausikc

I installed bbPress 2.1.3 on WordPress 3.4.2. In the settings page, I see the following:

Theme Packages

How your forum content is displayed within your existing theme.
Current Package
– bbPress Default (bbp-theme-compat)
– Twenty-ten bbPress

If I select the 1st option, forum page comes up nicely, none of the existing forums show up. If I select the 2nd options, existing forums show up, but the layout is completely broken.

I am using custom WordPress theme. What am I doing wrong?
