After upgrading to 2.2.4, only the “keymaster” role gets the normal fancy post editor with a choice between WYSIWYG view and source code view.

Normal “participant” users only get the source code view (exactly like in this support forum). There’s the row of helper buttons to insert code, but you can’t switch to the WYSIWYG view.

I checked that there are no JS errors. (This is usually what prevents the tabs for switching to show up).

I figure it must have something to do with the capabilities of the forum roles, but I don’t know how I would be able to view or change these. I use the Members plugin to edit roles and caps for the rest of WP.

Hoping someone can confirm this bug to avoid this issue being skipped for the 2.3 release since it is considered critical

john the admin creates group1 – jane creates group2 (private)

when jane visits group2 to create a forum post, it is posted to group1 and everyone can view the private forum post.

tested twice with new installs wordpress 3.5.1 + buddypress trunk-6779 + bbpress trunk 4761

jane is a standard user (participant)

I use [ bbp-topic-index] embedded on the front page of www.cpsarc.com and it’s been reported that clicking on the navigation links (for page 2 etc) doesn’t direct to forum pages, they display news posts.

However the same shortcode on the forum page, works as expected
I can see the address generated for the link on the front page is cpsarc.com/?paged=2
however on the forum page it’s cpsarc.com/?pageid=1555&paged=2 and pageid 1555 is the forum page.

I am trying to do something which i feel should be pretty simple.

I want to make forum/topics that are only visible and accessible by certain users i can determine myself.

For instance one forum/topic that only 2 forum users say “john” and “paul” have access to along with our admin.

There does not appear to be a way of doing this and i have tried most of the plugins the last 4 days of googling have provided.

Surely im missing something simple?

Im using the latest versions of wordpress and bbpress, just downloaded this week.

Anybody knows if there’s a way to temporarily disable all users to login and to post?
I want my forum to be accessible for reading only now and then,
and I don t want to change the users role every time, since I have thousands of users with different roles.

There should be a simple way to do so, but I don’t know how. Any ideas?

Hi, I have BBPress installed in my wordpress GEO Theme. My site is US nationwide which means people can post their place listing for every State and City. I would like to offer the option to the place listing owners to create a private forum for their place. So, it will more than likely be thousands of private forums within my site. Is this possible with BBPress?

If a user clicks a url to an existing post such as:

`www.some-address.org/topic/website-ideas/#post-1893
`
and they are not logged in, it currently takes them to ‘Page Not Found’ page. Is it possible to send them to a login page instead?

Ideally then would be sent to the login page, then be redirected to the required address.

I am fairly brand spanking new to the bbforum and its community. From reading a few of the topics, I could see already there is plenty of potential in this plugin and I am excited to get it going. However, I am interested in allowing members to post topics in the forums. How do I enable the option for this? This question must be so elementary to so many of you but I must ask so that I start on the right foot! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

okay guys please visit this site so you would understand what I want to talk about here. what I want to do is to add a column right next to my forum list and before the buddypress default theme sidebar. and I want to include pictures inside that column is there a way to do this? now this might sacrifice some of the width with forum list column but that is fine that’s actually what I need. because I want to add some excitement to the site instead of just a white page with a forum. basically I need web design help please any ideas is welcome.

Hello. Good day! I have installed BuddyPress Plugin on some of my sites. But earlier, I have tried running the exploit scanner plugin on those sites and it has found ‘base64_decode’ and ‘eval()’ lines of code. (Kindly see attached image). I don’t know if I would have to remove the plugin because i found out on some forums and articles that those codes are threats and can cause hijacking and injecting malicious stuffs and the likes.
