Login with Facebook

Published on February 11th, 2014 by pooya

Hi Guys, just installed bbpress.

I need help with the following please.

1. I need to find a plugin which allows my visitors to login via facebook credentials.
Which in return registers them as part of my website & bbpress.
An if else function is needed to verify if the visitor is the member of the facebook group, if not it wont allow them to login.

2. I want someone who could modify /wp-content/plugins/jsl3-facebook-wall-feed/php/class-uki-facebook-wall-feed.php to add data to my bbPress database as it loops through each post in my Facebook Group feed. The specific function that loops through my feed is display_fb_wall_feed(), will provide more details.

current_user_can Issue

Published on February 11th, 2014 by ttyler333

I have been trying to enable the ability for the author to delete their own posts. I am running bbPress 2.5.3-5249 and based on my analysis current_user_can("delete_reply", $post->ID); seems to be the problem, I created a capability “delete_reply” and still didn’t succeed. I read documentation but it said delete_replies. I have spent too much time on this one thing. I can make the bbpress work so the user can delete their own posts but it’d be after modifying files I really should only have to hook into. Anyone have any advice or tips?

Published on February 11th, 2014 by zane99

First time using BBpress with a new site i was helping with. Installed the setup forums with no problem and everything was working fine for a few days then blam, everything died. I was not even installing or editing anything at the time. You can see the result here –

Help to remove email address from forum

Published on February 10th, 2014 by Majijiboo

bbPress – Twenty Fourteen – iPhone view

Published on February 10th, 2014 by iwebkat

I have set up the bbpress and works great…with the exception that it does not show on an iPhone. The new 3.8 theme Twenty Fourteen works great and changes to reflect large screens, tablets and phones. The entire site works well in all views with the exception of bbPress on the iPhone. (The forums do not show up.)

Does anyone know a fix for this? I would love to implement this bbPress on my site, but worry that some of my users may ONLY have access via phone. Any suggestions?

widget context – are forum topics same as posts?

Published on February 10th, 2014 by

I’m using Widget Context to manage sidebars on my site. If I set a widget to appear on Blog Index and All posts it appears in my forum sidebar (which I don’t want). I’m trying to work out why this is so my first question is – are bbpress forum topics classed / managed as posts? and are forum indexes classed the same as blog indexes/archives?

This might explain why Widget Context treats them as such.

Many thanks.

Real simply question about bbPress permalinks

Published on February 10th, 2014 by Mycelus

Hey guys. This should be pretty simple, but I’m still new to everything so I wanted to ask for help.

This is an example link in question.

http://www.skyforgelabs.com/forums/forum/news-reviews/

So as you can see, it is my website, forums, and then a forum, and then the name of the forum.

What I would like is for it to show like this:

http://www.skyforgelabs.com/forums/news-reviews/

Basically it should skip the “forum” part, because it’s redundant and it would improve my SEO a bit, and it looks much better.

Any idea on what I would do in my settings to achieve this?

tag field in db

Published on February 10th, 2014 by seanlee10

Hi, I am building a plugin that pulls the posts and filter them by the tag.

However, I wasn’t able to find what field in what table contains the tag information of a post.

Plus, I also couldn’t find what field holds the post_status information such as [open] or [closed]

Thank you in advance!

Sean
