My solution is not particularly elegant, I created a noreply@domain.com account and setup an inbox rule to automatically delete emails sent from noreply to noreply. There has to be a better way.

Hi jturet, I did the same, but I keep the mails. So I don’t have to subscribe to the forums 😉
But you are right. This is no solution.
I wonder why there is no patch for this problem…

did you go through the usual troubleshooting steps for general issues in

    Before Posting

and see if another existing plugin might have caused an issue??

    Hi Robkk,
stopped all bbpress plugins and cleared the function.php without success.
But I’m not the only one with this problems

Emails being sent to noreply@www.mysite.com for subscription emails

try not just bbPress specific plugins but also any other WordPress plugins.

you and @jturet seem to have issues of late , so we have to see if its another plugin causing the issue a host setup or whatever else to pinpoint the issue.

if it is bbPress i will contact the Devs.

I would also like to see a better solution to this problem. I can confirm that it is only a BBP issue, not related to any other plugin. It is simply that the email “to” address is hard coded to use noreply@domain name in bbp.

That initially sounds reasonable, but as Mathias70 who started this thread pointed out, not everyone has or even wants a ‘noreply’ email on their domain. I’ve just added bbp to our large organisation’s WP site and now have the same issue.

Please can the “To” email address for notifications be a configurable variable rather than hard coded as soon as possible.
