In reply to: Buddypress + bbpress plugin – MEmbers PROFILESIn reply to: WordPress + BuddyPress + bbPress (Integration)
What I did at http://www.swnk.org is install the bbPress & Buddypress plugins separately from each other. I’m not using the forums function of buddyPress and I’m re-directing the forum profiles to the BuddyPress profiles for instance.

In reply to: I need the number posts !!I can’t imagine it having anything to do with the way you ask your questions.
In reply to: Anyone want a custom bbPress plugin made for free?The bbPress plugin repo on this site is for the standalone edition (1.x), but current development (it’s at RC2 at the moment) is focused on the WordPress plugin edition (2.x).
In reply to: Anyone want a custom bbPress plugin made for free?You’re probably right about it being a bridge too far for this project, but since you asked what kinda plugins people would like to see, well.. That one for sure
There’s a forum signature one already:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbp-signature/
As for an avatar plugin:
BuddyPress as mentioned and I’ve seen some others been mentioned in these forums too, but I didn’t test those.
There’s also an UBBcode/toolbar plugin but that’s about it I think.
In reply to: Anyone want a custom bbPress plugin made for free?You’re probably right, I never developed a plugin for WordPress yet, something I like to look into when I have some time again
In reply to: Anyone want a custom bbPress plugin made for free?I don’t know a smart and efficient way, first thing that comes to mind is a table that has unread (or read) posts for every (logged_in) user. But yeah, that probably will be slow, and grow quickly?
Maybe JJJ has some ideas on that? I know it has been mentioned before in these forums.
As for the avatar plugin, Buddypress does this pretty well and I’m sure there are other plugins out there that do the trick.
In reply to: Anyone want a custom bbPress plugin made for free?I would love a “read”/”unread”/”new posts” kinda plugin for bbpress (2.x)
If I find the time I’ll see if I can test on a brand new install, but I don’t know if I’ll have that time.
Any idea what else could cause it?
Either way, it’s not really an issue for me for me at the moment, since it’s working now
PS > Lots of updates yesterday night, nice one!
It’s this ticket: https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1576
Giving the “edit_other_forums” cap seemed to solve it.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 spam comment overview missingI’ve had this happen in my install as well, most of the time the post contained a link. It’s visible in the backend though, look for the hidden replies (or hidden topics) count.
It seems like the spam control is a bit too triggerhappy.
I didn’t try it myself, but you can import posts from the stand-alone edition. Try searching for it.
Either way, I would suggest you get a beta running where you try it out first, before you employ it on any live site.
In reply to: How to InstallYou can use these shortcodes:
That’s because the WordPress plugin is still in beta. There’s bits and pieces of information all over the forum and you can always ask questions of course.
In reply to: Edit dont work?If you don’t know what you’re doing, I guess it’s better to just wait for an official fix.
In reply to: How to redirect all registration to WordPressThe WordPress plugin of bbPress (2.0) does this.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – UpdatesThere has been some talk about scaling in this topic: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-designed-for-scale

In reply to: forums rolesTry the members plugin by Justin Tadlock and maybe change your tone a bit…
In reply to: Edit dont work?This might solve it, I had the same (or a similar?) problem:

In reply to: Editing topics and replies in bbPress 2.0You sir (?), are a genius!
Thanks a lot for making this work, going to implement it in the live site right away.
JJ, any way of implementing this in newer versions of RC? Or maybe fixing it in a different way?
In reply to: Editing topics and replies in bbPress 2.0Thanks a lot for that reply, going to test it out in my beta enviroment right now
In reply to: Don't Show TagsFind all the CSS for tags and just hide them, that’s what I did. Not using them either.
Example:
.bbPress .bbp-form .form-allowed-tags {
display:none;
}
