The plugin author of the plugin I mentioned coded What I asked for, you can find the thread here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/need-some-help-getting-this-right-1
Fixes the Recent Replies perfectly!!!
I found a way to replace these damn widgets but am struggling getting it right.
Maybe if I point you guys towards the tools you can help me do it?
=> https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-wrangler/That plugin can be used to create a custom query and then use it as a widget. You can select replies as post type and define a lot of stuff I just can’t seem to get it right.
Those queries you create can be exported so please share if you get it working.
Here is my thread in the wp.org forums: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/need-some-help-getting-this-right-1In reply to: bbPress 2.4 Now AvailableThanks 🙂
In reply to: bbPress 2.4 Now Availablebtw. did anyone else notice that the latest bbpress killed the display of the date of the latest post/reply as well as the display of the post author?
Its simply not showing anymore even though I checked the box in the widget settings.
check it out live here: die-kellerkinder.eu

And here I was thinking tis just me who’s unhappy with the built-in widgets.
I used to love the bbpress versions below 2.x – there where plenty of plugins available to it to make it jump through loops and hoops but since 2.x most of those don’t work anymore.I’m just wondering that nobody except you is interested in this issue 🙁
I installed this plugin: User Role Editor
then went to Users => User Role Editor and click on reset. In reply to: Fix for users of s2member and bbPress 2.2And now I had the same problem again, this time it was WP Slimstat that was incompatible and not allowing me to post/reply. BUT I had this plugin running on this site for years, yesterday I had to deactivate-reactivate all plugins to solve a problem, so maybe, if I activate these plugins BEFORE bbpress things might work out?
In reply to: New Topic Button – on forum pages (paypal reward :)never realized this but this sounds like a useful addition, or at least a hyperlink to the anchor for New Topic?
In reply to: Fix for users of s2member and bbPress 2.2Haven’t found anything quite similar to this plugin and I know its old, I think it has even been removed from the repository. Anyway, will need to find a similar one now 🙂
In reply to: Fix for users of s2member and bbPress 2.2hm, thx for the feedback, so I did this:
– all plugins off except bbpress and User Role Editor: posting worked. so now I am re-activating all plugins one-by-one to find the culprit.
The culprit is: WP Easy Uploader
http://chrisjean.com/wordpress-plugins/wp-easy-uploader/ very old but useful plugin.
btw. User Role Editor cannot edit bbpress roles as I understand they are dynamic? Not 100% about that statement but haven’t found a way to edit them.
In reply to: Fix for users of s2member and bbPress 2.2I’ve set my users to about every possible bbpress AND wordpress role and only if they are a key master can they post/reply.
HELP!
In reply to: Roles and Capabilities in bbPress 2.2I tried all suggestions from this thread and still not able to post new threads or replies except with a key master. moderator or participants can’t.
tried resetting the forum roles on my 2.3 bbpress isntall and all authors were made spectators. isn’t participant assigned to author?
ideally all users should be subscribers and participants. any further ideas how to fix broken permissions?
In reply to: Fix for users of s2member and bbPress 2.2@kraigg:
same problem here, none of my users except key masters can post or reply. I have been using User Role Editor in the past, any advice on how you fixed your problem?
In reply to: You cannot reply to this topicoh, this is a 2.3RC1 that imported its content from SimplePress and was then upgraded to 2.3 when it was released.
Solved by using User Role Editor to reset all wordpress user roles to their default.
Anyone?
I just need to purge ALL traces of bbpress, please advise!
In reply to: WPMU integrationtha code snippet by clarko seems to do the trick even with bbpress 1.0.1 and wpmu 2.8.4
In reply to: topics and psots appearing twiceI guess the 1.0.1 update fixed it so far. still got two remaining issues:
– the feed still shows every topic/post double
– my key master still has (Inactive) after his name, refreshing sometimes shows him as (key master) but rarely although the integration works, wordpress realizes the user is a keymaster and logged in I can go to the admin part of wordpress and bbpress without hickups, but when viewing a key master’s psot, it still says: Inactive
In reply to: bbPress 1.0.1 bug-fix releasedwell, I made my siteadmin in wpmu the key master, and deleted the keymaster account I used ot isntall. now my key master is shown as inactive, if I refresh he turns back to keymaster…
do I need all the other roles? I’d have wanted to keep it simple, make all wpmu users memebrs and the site-admin key master that is all roles I need, can I ignore the others/
In reply to: topics and psots appearing twicewell I don’t seee anything double on your profile page, but my test forum I linked above still shows double stuff. I tried the default theme, same problem, then I disabled the only plugin that was active adn the problem still persiststs…
besides that, there are only 2 test posts there made by me as key master and every now and then, it shows my user as inactive, if I do a refresh, it shows key master behind my name, go to another post and its inactive again
In reply to: WP bbpress integration plugin no longer needed?curious as well…
In reply to: bbPress 1.0 releasedperms are all ok, after installation did a chown -R group:user forum/ chmod -R 755 forum/ so that isn’t the problem
In reply to: bbPress 1.0 releaseddunno if you are talking to me, but my permalink rewrites work perfect. click the demo link I gave above.
the problem is just that I have an extra “forum” bit in the URL for forums, but after thinking about it carefully, it seems to be the same problem as with wordpress and the built-in “category” bit in category urls…
btw. my .htaceess fiel is inside the forum folder where bbpress is installed
In reply to: bbPress 1.0 releasedhi there.
I successfully integrated wpmu 2.7.1 with bbpress 1.0. all works as its supposed to, except for some small questions/problems:
– the forums are located here: http://zice.ro/forum/ so basically bbpress is isntalled in a folder called forum
– the links to the forums looks weird, notice the link contains forum twice? i.e. http://zice.ro/forum/forum/pluginuri
– I checked my .htaccess inside the forum folder: http://pastebin.com/f3b96dbc9 notice the rewrite base says: RewriteBase /forum/ I tried changing it to / but that doesn’t help. What is it supposed to look like?
– besides why do almost all rewrites inside that file have an additional forum inside? i.e. RewriteRule ^page/([0-9]+)/?$ /forum/index.php?page=$1 [L,QSA] is that automatically taken from the isntallation folder?
– how could I get rid of that additional forum? Looks stupid
– bbpress sees all my registered users, but claims they have no role. I’d realy hate to have to manually edit all users and give them memebr privileges. shouldn’t there be a way to automatically promote all existing wpmu users to bbpress members?
– I tried the DEEP INTEGRAATION, but still, even if using
<?php wp_head(); ?>
inside mh header.php doesn’t trigger all wordpress plugins that should be triggered when calling the wp_head – is there a way to autoamte this?
