talgalili, we’ll probably leave external authentication to plugins just like with regular WordPress.
johnhiler, Sam did have some cool designs and ideas for the site, I’ll try to track that down and see if we can get a refresh going.
rvlawrence, PickledPC, totally agreed. It’s way too hard to use and integrate right now.

We chose a new name for it to avoid confusion.
I think I originally announced it a year or two ago, just nothing has happened with it until recently.
_ck_ is absolutely right about not putting one of the product names in your domain. Better to start with something unique that you truly own, rather than using someone else’s name.

Large parts of it have already been translated as part of WordPress.com, but we don’t want to localize the default templates until we have proper themes. (Like in WP.)
