In reply to: Plugin: Simple Onlinelist 1.4I get these errors:
bbPress database error: [Table ‘mpmorg2_bbpress.bb_online’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT * FROM bb_online WHERE user_id = 1 LIMIT 1
bbPress database error: [Table ‘mpmorg2_bbpress.bb_online’ doesn’t exist]
INSERT INTO bb_online (user_id, activity) VALUES (‘1’, ‘2007-03-24 06:06:37’)
read me says:
“You’ll maybe get an error if you browse your forum the first time after you’ve installed the plugin. This is normal.
If you keep getting errors, try setting
$mysql41
tofalse
maybe it works then, otherwise don’t hestitate to contact me.”How do I set this to false?
forum is here: http://www.mpm.org.au
EDIT: It’s okay, it just took some time for the errors to disappear.
In reply to: What’s integration? Is shared logins the only benefit?
Can bbpress use any of the wordpress plugins?
What are some of the practical benefits of integrating a blog with a forum?
Can you make the comments from wordpress go directly to the forum? Not just appear in the forum but ONLY appear in the forum?
My wordpress blog is http://300.mpm.org.au, a community charity illustration blog but I’d like the community aspect of the commenting system to be part of our forums with all our other forum topics/projects at http://www.mpm.org.au.
Ideally I would like the root of our site (http://www.mpm.org.au) to use something relatively simple like Nulls BBportal to pull and display open forum topics from a couple of specific categories (in our forums case our ‘newsfront’ category and our company specific category) and then have our wordpress blog also linked into the forums from a subdomain.
In reply to: I think I need a fix …Mirce, that just puts the sidebar out in firefox…it’s a big difference/space between the 2 browsers.
EDIT: adding display: inline seems to have done the job.
In reply to: question about exporting from bbpressI have an old wordpress blog I would like to export into bbpress – is this possible?
I would settle for posts and comments but users would be good too.
In reply to: Patch: Categories for version 0.8never mind, nutted it out.
In reply to: Patch: Categories for version 0.8I installed the patch (had it installed for me)
Just to make sure:
1.The admin dashboard does not resemble the old one?
2. I can make and assign categories alright but I can’t see the category listing on the front page of the forum (like macwises site: http://www.babyquestions101.com) dividing the forums into groups.
Do you have to install the patch on a brand new installation?

In reply to: show search form or link to search.php on home pageso how come search isn’t enabled when you first install bb? It’s obviously there – but you have to add it in? What about some css for the style sheet?
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwareYeah, definately Trent.
The site I’m working on has 3 sections.
1. Forums for our specific projects (charity store products, our art projects, forum for sponsors promotion)
2. Not For Profit Sector Resources (including a forum for fundraising initiatives for a local hospital)
3. Arts Resources (including forums for different fields of the arts which includes community driven art projects)
plus your normal general, private and admin forums.
The subcategories will enable the page to guide readers to where they should be.
In reply to: Patch: Categories for version 0.8how do I get command line access?
By locally, do you mean do it manually?
In reply to: Patch: Categories for version 0.8Well, that may be awhile – so this patch will do for now – if I get it installed!
In reply to: sticking things in the sidebarcheers
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwareCan someone post a how-to link on installing patches?
In reply to: Patch: Categories for version 0.8This is the first time I’ve tried to patch something and I’m at a bit of a loss.
I’m using a linux server and I uploaded the .patch file to the directory ‘bb/’ then did a site command (my ftp program is called mifiles) and pasted ‘patch -p0 <categories-build719.patch’ but I just get a 550 unknown command error.
I have no idea (obviously).
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwareSo subforums are to become part of a standard install of bbpress? Is this going to happen soon(ish) or am I better off waiting entirely or installing the patch? I really want to use bbpress but I need the subforums.
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwaremacwise,
how did you create your extra forums/subforums?
I’ve done some looking around and found SamBaeurs patch – is this the best way to do this?
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwarecheers
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwareso there is no image uploading inherent in bbpress? But there are image plugins?
What can be shared between WP and BB? logins? Can wordpress show latest BB posts?
In reply to: bbpress v. other forum softwareFirstly, that’s a fantastic looking site!
