    What plug in did you use? I’m still looking for something to mass delete users in bbPress.

    Someone call me when the integration works both ways! Heh

    @johnjamesjacoby

    Well that explains it all!

    Yeah, there’s years of posts I would lose and forum users.

    Is this integration NOT meant to be done with a existing install of bbPress? Is it the intended behavior for it to use the WP user tables and ignore the BB user tables?

    Worked perfectly. Thank you!

    OK, I can sign-in to BB with my WP admin account, but now none of my BB accounts work.

    My bb_users and wp_users are in two different databases. I filled out the advanced settings in bbPress for that however, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be working.

    Just checked, both tables still exist in their respective databases.

    Yeah, would that sub-folder have anything to do with it?

    Integration doesn’t seem to be working for me. I followed the screencast, but for some reason when I sign into my WP it signs me OUT of my bbPress. And vice-versa. And I can’t use my Key Master account to sign-in to WP admin.

    When will we see a mass edit users function in bbPress? Can someone make a plugin?

    I’m about to run this script. THANK YOU! So for the md5 hashing plugin, do we need to install that after we convert? Or?

    In reply to: PHPBB3 Converstion

    Is there an ETA on the converter?

    In reply to: PHPBB3 Converstion

    Just realized I can’t do it, the phpBB3 -> phpBB2 converter doesn’t bring over the users. And I don’t want to lose my userbase.

    So it looks like I’ll just be waiting until a phpBB3 -> bbPress converter is finished! Whenever that’ll be!

    In reply to: PHPBB3 Converstion

    I guess I’ll try the phpBB3 -> phpBB2 -> bbPress method. Yikes!

    In reply to: PHPBB3 Converstion

    Is the phpBB 3.0 converter included in bbPress 1.0 alpha 2? Just curious, I’m interested in testing it out.

    In reply to: PHPBB3 Converstion

    So what was the outcome from the Summer of Code? Did we get a phpBB 3.0 converter?

    Any updates on this?

    Fixed it. There was a problem with the secret key. I entered it in the field during installation, but for some reason it wasn’t written correctly in the bbpress config file.

    I’m having a problem with a fresh install of 0.9.0.2. After last step of installation…

    Referrer is OK, beginning installation…
    >>> Setting up custom user table constants

    Step 1 - Creating database tables
    >>> Create table bb_forums
    >>> Create table bb_posts
    >>> Create table bb_topics
    >>> Create table bb_topicmeta
    >>> Create table bb_tags
    >>> Create table bb_tagged
    >>> Added index wp_users UNIQUE KEY user_nicename (user_nicename)
    >>>
    >>>>>> Duplicate key name 'user_nicename'

    Step 2 - WordPress integration (optional)
    >>> WordPress address (URL): MYURL
    >>> Blog address (URL): MYURL
    >>> WordPress cookie secret key set.
    >>> WordPress database secret set.
    >>> User database table prefix: wp_

    Step 3 - Site settings
    >>> Site name: MYSITENAME
    >>> Site address (URL): MYURL
    >>> From email address: MYEMAIL
    >>> Key master role assigned to existing user
    >>>>>> Username: admin
    >>>>>> Email address: MYEMAIL
    >>>>>> Password: Your existing password
    >>> Description: Just another bbPress community
    >>> Forum could not be created!
    >>> Key master email sent

    There were some errors encountered during installation!

    I should note that I assigned the key master as my admin user in WordPress. When I go to my forum I receive the following error….

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /MYPATH/bb-config.php on line 22

    I’m having this same problem. Fresh installation using version 0.9.0.2.

    I wish there was a beta script! I really want to move from phpbb3 to bbpress now.

    Definitely drop MultiViews

    In reply to: invision board?

    Good news! Hopefully bbPress will eventually have private messaging in the core so the importers can move over PM data as well!

    In reply to: invision board?

    I think the most important feature for bbPress’ future will be importers / converters.

    People are going to want to integrate their forums with WordPress. And those of use already running vBulletin or IPB are going to want to convert to bbPress!

    Just a shot in the dark, but I’m guessing the new WordPress.org is using an updated version of bbPress. Looks new-ish! (has gravatar support, etc)
