But I see you want for the latest version 1.2+
@Gautam is right about installing bbPress within BuddyPress or if you already have one, then you can link that too (I haven’t tried that yet but it should work easily).
And if you want to run a standalone version with BuddyPress for some reason (may be because the limit that forums are within group only), then you are out of luck as nothing exists for now.

Yeah but u can’t have standalone forums in BuddyPress 1.2
They are limited to groups only. Some find it a problem.
Just write the code how you want bbPress to handle passwords (the way your app does) and then put it in functions.php to override the function defined in pluggable file

forums will be within groups and not site wide in BuddyPress’s latest version
You can set roles for unassigned roles and specify default roles for new members but if you change the role of a member, it is not reflected at other end.
I find this limiting thing as a feature to have even more control on things.
Just finish the installation. It will create a random password which you can change afterwards.

1.0 wouldn’t be affected nothing will change in database but in 0.9 it will expect data as per 0.9 whereas it will be available as 1.0
Just change the prefix for 0.9 and reinstall

Use Firebug addon in Firefox to catch up with CSS.
Right click on any element > Inspect element and its CSS goes at the right hand side. Play with it.
