Today we’ve released two versions of bbPress.
- bbPress 1.0.2 addresses a number of issues which have come up since the 1.0.1 release, including a problem where the voices count could get out of sync.
- bbPress 0.9.0.6 is the first “legacy” release of the bbPress 0.9 branch, which will be maintained for security until late 2010.
Both releases fix a long standing bug which was affecting the way spam was being reported via the Akismet plugin. These releases are recommended for all users of both bbPress branches.
Download either (or both!) from the download page now.
What’s point to support old 0.9 version?
I want more addons for 1.0 🙂
Blessed be.
Thank you bbPress team!!

Way to go wordpress creators ..
Wordpress is indeed exciting for bloggers like (was with another platform till june)
so i would happily choose bbpress for my yet to start forum 🙂
With bbPress being recently released many plugins are not compatible with 1.0.X, or have not been tested with, or still say compatible to 0.9.0.X
Should no all existing plugins be put into a legacy plugins forum (probably by renaming the existing forum) and moved into the “current” Plugins forum when they are known to be compatible with a stable release version of bbPress.
If this would not work then the legacy plugins should all be tagged “legacy” and only de-tagged when they are known to be compatible and tested against a stable released version.
Similarly no plugin should be accepted without a statement of Requires bbPress and Tested/Compatible with . Similarly if it is a WordPress/bbPress interfacing plugin it should also state the WordPress versions required/compatibile.
This would make it quicker for people wanting to try out plugins to know that it is not worth bothering with versions that are not compatible with the versions they are using
