Version 1.1 Features

December 10, 2009 7:59 pm — Meta — Matt

If you have some ideas about what features should be in 1.1 take this survey and let me know. The survey is open until Saturday, and then on Monday will put up a poll for people to vote on what they like. I’ll share the results at the next IRC meetup on Wednesday. Update: Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll, it’s closed now.

    I didn’t make it for the meetup, but I’ll be snooping around and contributing if the idea is to turn the mess into a canonical plugin that uses custom post types.

    Thanks for posting the survey Matt :)

    I imagine quite a few people will suggest Private messaging, but presumably if WP and bbPress are fully integrated, then the BuddyPress private messaging system could be utilized for that instead of it being something integrated into the core.

  6. Man this survey was up for way to short a time :-( Would love to have participated. Why the short timeframe compared to the ditto done on WordPress.org?

      I only want the opinions of fast people. ;)

      There will be lots of ways to get involved beyond this survey, it was just to test the waters and gather some high-level feedback.

    Damn, missed it.

    @Matt

    Dang it, missed the survey as well.

    In case you want my input…

    - Please oh please keep bbPress a stand alone application

    well … the rest is just to smooth off the product edges like (prettier default theme, etc)

    Email notification of updates when someone makes a comment/post. I asked this question about 8 months ago and still have not found a solution. :-(

  10. Gautam says:

    @Captain Jack
    I had created a plugin for that (for a client), but didn’t think that many people would need it.
    I’ll post about the plugin in the forums within a couple of days…

  11. Kevin Newman says:

    Autoupdate for core and plugins would have been my top choice. ;-)
