Forum Passwords

Published on November 3rd, 2007 by

This is a great feature despite the “private forums” plug-in (which only allows ‘certain roles’ to access a forum). If I need just a Forum with a password which is private, this is a good feature to add in the next release (or add a plug-in). If you understand me anyways. Thanks.

Page Loading Problem in Internet Explorer

Published on November 2nd, 2007 by

My forum works great in Firefox but when I use Internet Explorer, often the page doesn’t load (webpage cannot be found error). I hit reload several times until it finally works, which it always does eventually. Any suggestions?

Published on November 1st, 2007 by

Hi,

can anyone give me help doing this?

front page:

-Forum

-Subforum

Subsubforum1, Subsubforum2, Subsubforum 3

how can I put the subsubforum next to eachother?

or if not possible: only show the subsubforums as topics (not on the frontpage)

Sticky on “Latest Discussions”

Published on November 1st, 2007 by

I’d like my sticky threads to act exactly like regular threads on the front page “Latest Discussions” section, instead of always being at the top of the list. That is, they’d still appear on the list, but in the order of last posting – the same as all the usual threads.

Is there any easy fix?

Add New and Finding Those Extra Divs

Published on October 31st, 2007 by matt123

I’ve been searching, every file in my kakumei theme and cannot find the file that is messing up how the add new page is displaying. I know its a div issue but can’t seem to find that extra div.

What file displays the add new option in the latest discussion section?

Does it display within another file? Which one?

“Access denied for user” during install?

Published on October 31st, 2007 by ericakadisco

I am installing bbPress to integrate with an existing WordPress. After the second step of install I get this error:

Second Step

Now we’re going to create the database tables and fill them with some
default data.

bbPress database error: [Access denied for user 'disco'@'localhost' to
database 'approachanxiety_com_bbpress2']
SHOW TABLES;

bbPress database error: [Access denied for user 'disco'@'localhost' to
database 'approachanxiety_com_bbpress2']
CREATE TABLE bb_forums....

It seems to be similar to this post,

https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/step-two-database-error?replies=4

And this one,

https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/db-access-problem-in-the-first-installation-step?replies=19

I tried to resolve it by replacing db-mysqli.php with db.php in the bb-includes folder and that didn’t work.

The username and password are correct. They are the same as for my original wordpress blog. And the database is correct as well. When I change it to something else I can’t even get to the second step.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Linking to “edit profile” directly from logged-in.php

Published on October 31st, 2007 by

The title says it. I’d like to have a link from the “logged-in.php” menu directly to the page where I can edit my profile (currently I first need to see the profile page and then edit from there).

Essentially I need a function like bb_profile_link(); that returns the link to edit profile page.

Thanks.

Rationale behind profile page content?

Published on October 31st, 2007 by

This is more of a clarifying question than feedback… If I go the “View your profile” page, I see recent replies and threads started – that is, I see my *activity*. I do not see my profile information.

There is a link that allows me to “edit this information”, but following that takes me to a form where I can edit my profile *details* (i.e. not the *activity*, hence my confusion).

It seems like these are two separate pages:

– User Activity

– User Profile Details

Am I missing something here?
