tinymce showing two textareas

Published on September 18th, 2009 by

I installed tinymce using their wiki defaults

however, now on my page when you go to post a topic, it has one textarea that is normal (as if I never installed tinymce)…and then a textarea below it that is for tinymce (all of the bolds, italics, etc work for it)

how do I get rid of the top textarea?? thanks

Still not recognizing login cookies with WP…

Published on September 17th, 2009 by Jim R

I’ve gone between bbpress, Simple Press, and phpBB3 using wp-united. I’m back to bbpress, just because I’m looking for something lighter, and I would presume, as time rolls on will be more in sync with WP. It’s frustrating though, as this is about the fifth time I’ve done a clean install of bbpress and still can’t get it to recognize login cookies. That’s logging in and logging out.

It does at least recognize users’ information, and my user base isn’t high maintenance.

I have double checked all of the cookie/salt values. They match. I don’t have a secure salt in my WP, so I didn’t have a value to put into bbpress. Could that be it? Also, nowhere in my bbpress installation does it ask for a noonce value. Could that be it?

I haven’t done any ‘deep integration’ yet, but from what I can tell that has more to do with aesthetics, which I’m sure will cause me more ‘funnerific’ problems.

I realize there are dozens of topics dealing with this, but nothing seems to really help on my end. I’m using WP 2.8.4.

Nofollow

Published on September 17th, 2009 by bbpros

Hi all, I love this script and have been getting acquainted for a couple of hours… I noticed the following:

1. User can post html. If they drop a whole url it will print with a “nofollow” BUT if they actually write http://, then it will print without it. Is there a way to make it consistently “nofollow”?

2. I would like to make the link in members’ profiles a “dofollow” but I am afraid to touch the code and all of a sudden make all links drop by members like that. I would only want to switch it off in the profile area.

Thanks.

Limit page views for guests

Is there a plugin or a way to code this? This was a feature that helped me increase the number of registered users back then when I was using SMF.

How can this be achieved with bbPress?

Modifying the SCOUN Theme!

Published on September 17th, 2009 by SharpMouth

Hiya Quick Question,

I’m Modifying Mike Lothar’s SCOUN bbPress theme. At the very top of the page, there are 3 Links:

– Search

– Register

I want to modify those links (and add new ones). How do I do that, I can’t find anything in the php pages nor the css. Cheers.

Widgets for bbpress?

Published on September 17th, 2009 by Marius-

Is this possible?

I see many cool widgets from WordPress, that I would like to use in bbpress, is this possible? To have a customisable sidebar plain and simple.

Like, theres a widget that does a vertical scrolling picture gallery. That would be cool in the forum.

line breaks

Would be nice is someone knows how to disable autoformatting or only tell me how to do line breaks in textareas.

Member list with additional details

Published on September 17th, 2009 by Burkie

I’m currently adding content to my membership page, using the memberlist plugin. I have added a few extra details to the sign up page e.g. About, Skills etc… I had found the following line echo "<a>user_url."">".$member->user_url."</a>"; so modifying this to echo $member->about; It thought it should work but doesn’t, any ideas?

Adding links in Header.

Published on September 17th, 2009 by InvTrdr

On my BB Press forum, http://www.invictatrader.com/bbpress/ there is a link called “Home” under the Header which brings a user back to the main page. How do I add more links there to point to other pages on my site?

Thank you.
