bbPress 2.0 & BBCode

Published on July 3rd, 2011 by neontrauma

Hi,

is there a possibility to add BBCode to bbPress 2.0?

The plugin “BBCode Lite for BuddyPress” is written for bbPress 1.x and doesn’t work when put into wp-content/plugins.

Thanks,

Another avatar size question!

Published on July 3rd, 2011 by fleetadmiral

I’m using Avatar Upload with the Misty Morning theme and that theme seems to work best with avatars not much bigger than 50×50 pixels.

Trouble is, the user data I have imported from an old bbPress install seems to have existing users’ avatar sizes embedded somewhere – so that even the default avatar is coming up for existing users as 100×100 as it was on the old site. New users seem to be OK and working as Avatar Upload intended.

Is there anywhere in the database I can find this old avatar data and any way I can delete/change it?

Restrict or limit login attempts

Published on July 3rd, 2011 by UG-Ltd.de

For security reasons there should be a way to restrict or limit failed login attempts. Because now bbpress also shows when username or password or both was/ were wrong. So hacking a profile is simpler than it should be.

Is there a way, maybe in template files to limit the possible attempts? Maybe three failed logins per hour – or something like this.

Thank you!

Bbpress 2.0 is loading 2 stylesheets?

Published on July 3rd, 2011 by Nate

So it’s kinda odd but on BBpress pages only, WordPress is loading 2 style sheets. I have my normal style.css and then it loads this below.

Both are the same style sheet. It wouldn’t matter all that much but I think it’s causing an error where I can’t target any HTML element with a style.

Has anyone else run across this error?

Consider my little suggestion. (=offer)

How to make the forum can be inserted on the pages (or posts) using short tag, such as [forum-1], [forum-2].

I use a blog with many sections and I was extremely convenient to have in each section of the appropriate forum.

I still have not figured out the code, it may already implemented … Tell me, please.

And if this has not realized, then, could you do this?

Thank you.

And… Sorry for my english :)

Problems after installation with URL's

Published on July 2nd, 2011 by sithinquisitor

Hi There,

I have just installed the latest BBPress Beta, I have activated it with no problems and added new forums without any errors. When I go to look at my forums by following any links to them I get a URL such as http://www.sithinquisitors.com/forums/forum/sith-inquisitor-news-and-announcements/

Which in turn gives me a 404 error page. Is there something that I am missing here? I havetn changed anything within the settings or anywhere else in the WordPress/bbPress admin panel.

Regards and thanks in advance.

Reverse or 'un-integrate' bbpress from WP

Published on July 2nd, 2011 by fleetadmiral

I’ve inherited a board from someone else and am running a standalone version of bbpress that has been integrated with WP.

How would I go about ‘un-integrating’ it? Basically, the users currently exist in a wp_users table in the database and I want to put them back in a bb_users table. I’m not well up on SQL which is probably why simply changing the name of the table didn’t work!
