Here’s the scenario, and I’ll try to be as specific and detailed as possible.
There are two different WP installations:
- The first (let’s call it myforum.com) just holds a bbpress forum install with thousands of members and posts.
- The second (let’s call it myblog.com) is an existing WP blog with thousands of existing posts&pages.
We want to create a fresh bbpress install on myblog.com/forum and want to import all of myforum.com’s bbpressdata. We’re getting rid of the myforum.com site after migration.
I am not a database guy however, and I have no idea how to export and import the forum posts as well as the users. I fear overwriting the existing posts, pages and users of myblog.com.
Is it as simple as importing tables from wordpress onto myblog.com? Will that overwrite what’s already there?
Appreciate any advice 🙂

Hi All,
I am new to BbPress and have inherited an installation that seems to have issues.
When you select a forum from the home page it not only shows topics from that forum, but also random topics from other forums on the site.
This happens using the twentyten theme plus 2 other custom themes using different frameworks.
This is the original installation http://techiteasy.co/
And this is a clone of it on a test server with a different theme http://techdev.kemikalkitchen.co.uk/
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

All the pages of the forum work with nice permalinks but the subpages in the profile only work with the standard permalink (which I dont want). The page gives then a ‘404 error page not found’. Who can help me with this problem?

When I put a category id in the latest replies widget, the widget simply fails to appear.
It works of course when I put a forum id in it.
Please can you tell me if the widget is meant to show replies from all forums within a (forum) category?
Thanks

In my forums, all the fields for entry have a gray border except the box in which the text of the post is entered. In this case the field is present but the border is invisible (or white). The nine dots at the bottom right to resize the box are visible.
My site is up to date, and uses a child of the TwentyTwelve theme. I have verified I get the same problem with native TwentyTwelve.

I’m using the bbpress login shortcode . The example shown on this page has a title and descriptive text but I don’t see any way/parameters for entering this:
bbPress Shortcodes Directory
I’m guessing this is just an image that was placed in a lightbox plugin. Wondering also if anyone knows how to get it into a modal window like this too.
Thanks for any assistance.

Is there any way to get a ‘Create New Topic’ button at the top of the site here: http://renewhempstead.com/forums-base/forum/group-forums/ to go to a new topic forum for without having to scroll down?
It works fine here: http://www.renewhempstead.com/groups where I can just link to http://www.renewhempstead.com/forums/new-topic-form/. But not in the above situation where it’s a specific forum within the forums.
Btw, I’m using the BuddyPress Group Forums along with one General Forum.

I have been building a site www.racingpigeon.com
The site includes a bbpress forum.
I found that there was peculiar things going on with the forum such as it could not be accessed from the back end. It can be viewed from the front end until someone logs in then it becomes blocked and returns 404. This happened first on the production site but was confirmed on a pilot installation also by deactivating and reactivating Ad King Pro. 1.9.9
