The Shadowed Mare Forums
We’ve recently switched from phpBB3 to BBpress and so far so good. I wanted to personally thank everyone on these forums for their tutorials and hacks that have helped us create the forums we were looking for. I also want to thank all of you that have worked on the BBpress plugin itself. It was difficult at times switching from phpBB3 and customizing BBpress but it was definitely worth it. Our site still has a few bugs like missing Pagination on the Topics pages and missing text when editing replies but those should be fixed soon.
You can check out our new forums at http://ShadowedMare.com/forums.
Thanks again! You guys are great!
Are the ‘missing pagination’ and ‘missing text when editing a reply’ custom template issues or do you think they are bbPress related?
Concerning the issues they’ve been missing since the day I installed BBpress.
Are you using custom templates (copied bbPress templates to your WordPress theme folder) or have you just tweaked the bbpress.css to match your theme?
Also what version of bbPress are you using?
Have a look in /wp-content/yourtheme/bbpress/loop-replies.php and make sure you have the following lines included which will then include the pagination links.
You should see respectively at the top (Trac Source)
and at the bottom of that code (Trac Source)
(The missing text when editing a reply is already patched for the next release)
Could I just insert within the footer or something similar?
It won’t let me enter the pagination php code.
This markdown/code plugin here on bbpress.org has got to go or get fixed
With all that said though it should be working as is so if that doesn’t there might be another underlying issue that is stopping the pagination working on your site
Pagination works perfectly on my forum pages, it’s just like descriptions – they work only under the forum categories. Strange.
I figured it out. I placed the bbp_replies_pagination_count (and topics count) within the headers of both loop-topics.php and loop-replies.php. I also had the change the CSS class for the “Posts” block in the header and reduced the height to make sure everything lined up properly. My theme really did not like bbPress but it’s almost 100% working now. Thanks for your help!
