Make a category invisible in the forum index, to be used on a separate page.

What I would like for my forum, is to have an “archive” category. I would like to move specific discussion forums containing topics to this archive-category every half year. However, if the category and its subforums show up in the forum-index, this becomes way too messy, therefore I would like to see this “archive” category in the menubar, and exclude it from the [bbp-forum-index].

Does anybody know if there is any way to do this?
    Thanks a million in advance!

  • Hi,
If you go in your /wp-admin, then ‘Forums > All Forums’ and then EDIT your forum, in the forum attributes on the rights, changing the visibility to ‘Hidden’, does that help ?

Thank you for the response, but this is my problem:
    – I want to hide the archive category from the forum index, not from the entire website. My archive page contains the shortcode: [bbp-single-forum id=488], which is the id of the category.

Participants should be able to go to the archive. I want an archive category to save old discussions, but I don’t want the archive category and its subforums to show up in the forum index, as this is too messy.
