Thanks for your step-by-step list e-motion! Our 6000+ user’s and 360 000+ post’s forum is still running on BBPress 0.9.0.2 and I’m going to upgrade it now. I think I just have to upgrade it first to 1.0.3 and then to 1.2 and follow your steps from point #5 or what do you think?
I’d want to move our 2000+ user forum from bbpress 0.9.3 to bbpress 2 as soon as it’s stable and tested. Will it be possible to save all the internal links as they are now (id-based)? And will the transfer of the 100k+ posts be easy at all?
How about Private Messaging plugin and other extra features which are now run by plugins?

We have had the same mislinking issue on our forum at: http://www.yksivaihde.net/site/foorumi/
It’s running on 0.9.0.3 because bbPress update didn’t work with the custom theme.
This plug-in also caused A LOT of queries to database and our server locked our forum out for too heavy CPU usage. I haven’t found a better plug-in for this use, but now I had to disable this one.
I wanted to use absolute time instead of relative also, but I noticed the UTC offset doesn’t have any effect on any timestamps. Is this still the only solution or have there been any new workarounds invented? I’m using bbPress 0.9.0.2 and WordPress 2.5.1
Is there a list of matching WordPress and bbPress themes anywhere? I’d like like to find a nice starting point for some modification.
