In reply to: Can users select their own bbpress theme?
hmmm…any recommendations on a free mobile friendly theme for bbpress then? That’s really what my problem comes down to. Users want a better interface (like an app) for their phone.
In reply to: Subscribe to new forum topicsI see the new functionality is in, but does it send emails? I subscribed to a forum and posted a new topic, but no email notice was sent. That was the original request, right?
it seems it was semi addressed – https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/subscribe-to-new-forum-topics/
Subscriptions
Forum participants can elect to subscribe to a topic. They will be notified when a new reply is posted and subscribed forum topics will appear on their forum profile.revisiting this, as I see the new version has a “subscribe to forum” functionality…but I have no idea what functionality that is, other than listing it in your subscriptions. Does it not email you when new topic is posted to that forum?
In reply to: list only most recently active threadsthe other thing I’m noticing now that I’ve switched is, yes, it shows the thread with the most recent activity, but the link takes you to the first post. In a thread with 30 pages…that’s less than desirable. If you have to do the join for author of the last post, it’s probably just as easy to get the post ID to append the link, right?
In reply to: list only most recently active threadswow, yeah, that’s half of what I wanted and didn’t realize was available. I do still want to show the person who posted the last reply though–otherwise, the widget seems “unformatted” or boring…It’d be nice to have a quick reference on who was the last person to post in that active topic while people are active and responding to other topics. As I see it now, it can only show the topic creator.
But thanks for pointing out that feature – seems like what I want is a join of the 2 widget queries.
In reply to: bbPress 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 – list style missingok, i fixed mine in a different way. Since I was using the default bbpress template, there was no folder for it in the directory listed in the bbpress codex page you linked to.
What i did, was open the CSS editor under theme editor and pasted your line into the pretty much empty box.
In reply to: list only most recently active threadshmm…maybe I’ll lay out the scenario…
I want to avoid a most recent reply widget that looks like:
Person A in topic Y
Person B in topic Y
Person C in topic Y
Person D in topic Y
Person E in topic Y
Person F in topic Y
Person A in topic ZIt’d be nice to just have Topic Y show once, as the most recently active thread, and topic Z under it.
In reply to: bbPress 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 – list style missingI’m having this same problem. no ordered or unordered list markings. I’m not understanding how you fixed this though…
because I’d have to manually type in people’s email addresses and manually remove them. It’s also for any topic. It’d be nice to be able to only subscribe to new topics in forum X and not in forum Y.
hmmm, I think one of us is misunderstanding the other…
You seem to be describing the ability to manage existing subscriptions to topics, right?
I’m trying to find a way users can subscribe to email updates when a new TOPIC is created in a forum, not just new replies to a topic.
from what I can tell, users are not able to control their own subscribe to forum settings through the site though, right? That’s a bummer.
In reply to: Subscribe to Forums (not just topics)same here..I’ve been looking through all the plugins, but haven’t found one yet…
In reply to: Lock/Assign Specific Forums to Specific Members OnlyI’m watching this thread for developments. I’m needing the same functionality. Hidden forums for special members.
In reply to: is anybody still using the reCAPTCHA plugin?can you give a link for the human test plugin? I can’t find it. and the bbcaptcha plugin doesnt seem to work with the latest version of wordpress.
