Very interesting… Thanks for thinking of me, robkk!
I also found a snippet that bypassed the feed page altogether, which is working out well. I’m still thinking of dropping Buddypress and just keeping BBPress for the sake of simplicity. It’s turning out to be not quite as useful as I thought (for what I am needing)…
Thanks again!
SharonIn reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsSorry to take so long to reply- this one slipped by me!
Thank you SO much, robkk!!!! 🙂
In reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsThanks, Robkk!
I’ll look into this further and see what I come up with…
In reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsOh, but please let me explain my idea about the title only… I was only referring to the “Replies Created” tab on the profile page. I would want full posts on the actual forum! 🙂
In reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsActually, I would prefer NOT to have the profiles visible to anyone other than members of that particular forum. But I couldn’t figure that out either…
Is that possible??
Thanks SO much for helping me figure this out, Robkk!
In reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsP.S. And I’ve already been talking with Robin too, which made me realize that’s not where the problem is…
In reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsI’m not really having an issue with Private Groups (as I once thought). I realize that plugin would work fine if the “Replies Created” link was not showing full posts.
Any idea how to get the Replies to only show the titles?
Thanks again!
SharonIn reply to: Replies Created Tab Showing Full PostsHi Robkk!
I was hoping I might hear from you! 🙂
I’ve actually had this problem long before I installed Buddypress (which was just a couple of days ago).
I do use the “Private Groups” plugin, however, this problem seems to be directly linked to BBPress. The Private Groups plugin only hides the content after you click on the title link (directing you to a private page). However, since these are full BBPress forum posts, the Private Groups plugin is not kicking in.
Does that makes sense?
Thanks!
SharonIn reply to: bbPress causes Category pages to show full postsThought so. 🙂
In reply to: bbPress causes Category pages to show full postsHello Robkk!
I may be having a similar issue. Should I start a new thread? Or explain more here? Just don’t want to step on toes…
Thanks!
Sharon
bellynsoul.comIn reply to: Different classes/Id’s for “Subscribe” links? Thanks, Robkk! I had a feeling I might hear from you! 😉
My challenge was that they seemed to have both the same id/class, but I only wanted to change the CSS of one of them. I was going to just use “display:none”, but removing it from the php did the trick as well…
Thanks for checking in though! 🙂
In reply to: Different classes/Id’s for “Subscribe” links?Nevermind! I decided to simply delete the call for the subscriber link in my child theme’s content-single-forum.php.
Thanks anyway! 🙂
SharonI don’t know if I want to let go of you that quickly… 😉
You know I’ll be back! 🙂
lol
P.S. Actually, the other half of the problem was that I had to have BOTH subscribe and favorites checked for either of them to show up. THEN I discovered the color issue. 🙂
Well this is embarrassing… lol
I figured out what was wrong. It appears the link picked up a default color on my theme, which happened to be the same color as the background! 🙂
All I need to do was change the color and… poof! The links appeared! lol So consider this issue RESOLVED.
Thanks SO much again for all of your help, in ALL of my recent threads! 🙂
Kindly,
SharonYou really are helpful, robkk! 🙂
I have no idea where they went. I can at least now see where they are suppose to be…
In the second image down, the area is marked #8 on this page:
https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-styling-crib/
Do you know what the class/id of this is, so I can see if I accidentally hid it in the css? I can’t imagine why, as I really want these links!
Thanks so much again,
SharonThanks, Robkk!
Again, I really appreciate your help.
Truly,
SharonThat worked! I could not figure out the right ID/Class to save my soul. Thanks SO much again, Robkk!!!
Would I be pressing my luck if I asked you one more Profile page-related css question? 🙂 I’m happy to start a new thread, if it would be more appropriate.
Why do line breaks not show up on the profile page? They do in the editor section, but not on the front end. The CSS indicates there’s a bottom margin of 18px, but it isn’t registering. Any thoughts?
Thanks again!
SharonHi again, Robkk!
Would you be able to help me with one other odd CSS issue I’m having?
The “Update Profile” button on the BBPress profile’s Edit page is bleeding out of the box.
Here’s a screenshot:
I don’t know if you can access it without having an account. Here’s the link to set one up, just in case you need it: bellynsoul.com/my-account.
Thanks again for all of your help!
Kindly,
SharonIn reply to: Strange WhitespaceAll set now. This is resolved thank to your help in another thread.
Thanks again!
SharonP.S. I’m also missing my “subscribe” option. Are these features ONLY available when one has the sidebar activated? Or is there another way I can add them to my forum?
Thanks!
SharonI have a more narrow page for posts, which is what the template is drawing from. Therefore, it was cramming everything together. I just removed the “voices” count in CSS to compensate for now…
Thanks again!
SharonIt’s making me consider going back to the full width page… I think that might make a difference. I’ll play with it.
Thanks again! 🙂
SharonTHANK YOU, Robkk!!!! 🙂
There’s a little overlap between Participants and Post in the header, but otherwise, it looks GREAT!
Thanks again!
SharonIn reply to: Can’t seem to make login short code workI think I figured out a work-around…
In Settings > General (in the WP Dashboard), I checked “Anyone can register” for the Membership option. Then using Robin Wilson’s awesome “Private Groups” plugin, I made the forum accessible ONLY to those who paid for my class.
Now all a user needs to do is sign-in to my website through Woocommerce, and click a link directing them to the private forum.
PHEW. I really didn’t want folks to sign in twice.
Thanks for your time, either way!
Kindly,
Sharon
