I’m in the same boat. When I hit publish the posts have today’s date.
I have run the Recalculate last activity in each topic and forum but this doesn’t redate the post. Which tool option redates the post?
May I hire you to write a plug in that would allow SOME sections of bbpress to be closed after a year but others to stay open indefinitely?

I apologize as I didn’t set up the site to know the correct answer. I’ve been told by MillaN that this “freshness” is core to bbpress.
I just know the page as a url that I’ve placed in the custom html section.

This is done with the Akismet addon in bbPress, and that addon has no filters to control it, so the only fix would be changing bbPress directly. This process calls normal bbPress functions that trigger updates to freshness, so it would be very hard to change with even direct modifications to bbPress because other parts depend on it.”

Akismet has pulled it as spam, but it still makes it show up in the “view” of topics freshness or posted in the last X days
I’d be willing to pay for a plug in. Do you know of anyone willing to do custom work?
Users post on the site. It’s posted. Moderators go back and determine that the post isn’t publish worthy and remove it. I’d like a reason send back to the poster.
It’s not just blacklists, sometimes we moderate comments because they don’t contribute. So we’d want something that would allow a response back to the poster that we can customize.
Someone posts, the moderators deem it not to be worthy, they remove the post. I would like a reason to be sent back to the poster.
We want to have a reason sent back to the poster when we deny a post.
Is that possible?
When the task is run “Recalculate parent forum for each topic and reply” it times out and the wordpress implementation loses access to the database. Now our anonymous users see no replies in the forum.
Is there any way to run this reindexing without causing this hiccup?
“We are happy with them having no FORUM role (only a site role) when the account is created. The problem of the being able to log them out when the account is created is not related – please note they are separate, and only one is a problem. We do not want to assign, by BBPress settings or code, any account a forum role. We only want them to earn a forum role when they log in to the site, as they do. This was specific custom code added after an earlier change, and took the devs to get it done.”
That box is already unticked.
it does allow them to script-update their profiles, which can include spam/p*rn etc

There is a menu bar option on the sidebar that exposes “my subscribed topics”
Wordpress code, no jetpack
The site has both blog posts and topics as well as bbpress.
It’s BBpress. Specifically there’s a forum part of the site and a blog page part of the site.

One has 9 topics the other 14. Scrolling from the bottom the were in sync until about two months ago. Then about two months ago they don’t jive. It’s like 2 months ago the “my subscribed topics” is just topics from the forums, not subscriptions from the main blog.
Currently it’s assigning them a forum role and we want them to not get assigned a role until they actually log in.
