the way bbPress outputs the login page bugs me, a lot. What I am trying to do is add a login box to my layout, when I did – I found it added a list and a horrible fieldset around the whole thing. This doesn’t work with my design at all.
are you using the shortcode [bbp-login] ??
you should use that shortcode if not.
more shortcodes supplied with bbPress that you can use.
https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/
I found there is no template readily available to just change. Really?
yes there is its called form-user-login.php
So, it seems all I can do is hack away at the core code, which will all be reverted once a new version comes around.
dont do that
@freeman7
did you install any security plugins or plugins that affect the login process recently??
if so the the users you created have admin privileges to deactivate plugins , deactivate those kind of plugins.
if not you have to deactivate the plugins using ftp
http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/
well you can close a topic to not allow any further replies to the topic if that is what you are talking about.
i found this, i havent tested it though with the latest version of bbPress and WordPress though.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-ignore-user/
maybe this plugin will work , only works without BuddyPress installed though
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-members-only/
i dont know about force but you could use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/
then make a default avatar something ridiculous or a bland picture so they would want to change their avatar to not see their default avatar.
also just found this plugin too , havent tested though.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-protected-forums/
@sceko
just checked and this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-enable-tinymce-visual-tab/
shows the visual editor in the edit page too.
if you still have issues reply back.
try posting a job at http://jobs.wordpress.net/
or other freelance development sites like codible.com
thanks for posting this ill check on it in a minute and see if i can find it and maybe fix it.
contact the plugin author about maybe improving it for other kinds of attachments.
other than that, http://jobs.wordpress.net/
@chadi
i dont know whats up , did you post alot of links or something??
@robertosalemi
if it still doesnt work , a last step you can do is reinstall bbPress if there was an issue with your first install.
i think changing the status to closed of the specific subforums you dont want any new topics in should do it.
go to the backend in the forums section
search for your specific forums
click edit on each then change status to closed.
@melanie-bund
this is kind of complicated to me , im going to say this is custom development.
try to figure it out yourself or hire another developer at http://jobs.wordpress.net/.
or wait and see if someone else picks up this topic.
@rmurdo
the problem does not go away when you tried the default themes , and deactivated plugins??
this is kind of odd…
Thanks for sharing , if you havent already contact the theme author so that it wont happen to future users of both bbPress and the Salient theme.
well there was an after the deadline spellcheck plugin in the past for bbPress standalone versions
but you will have to custom develop this kind of functionality for your client
@siddardha , @arpitg
i think the plugin author should just incorporate this type of thing into their plugin.
just tell them that you want more bbPress plugin integration to show topics/replies created on the user profile.
they can probably add the little fancy dropdown/menu item and everything too.
@j0n4h
I am using the loop-forums.php that’s provided on github for the hierarchicalloop-forums.php forum layout, if maybe that’s it?
that file is not causing the issue.
the file only affects the forum archive section , not the post count in the replies loop.
the post count below the avatar is rendered because of the theme, you can see it on there bbPress forum demo on their site.
http://theme-fusion.com/avada/forums/topic/hello-avada-users/
contact your theme author and maybe tell them that there is a bug , or ask them how to remove their function for their post count so that you can just use Robin’s plugin.
@j0n4h
oh sorry for the late reply, try to keep the number of links to 1 or 2 in your topic next time , the spam prevention measure bbPress did could be stopping it if you posted more than the minimum amount of links.
@j0n4h
if avada came with a bbpress.css file already in try to follow the same file hiearchy.
other than that it should be wp-content>avada-childtheme>css>bbpress.css
@richardlathrop
i dont know of a plugin that could do that kind of functionality.
i suggest you post a job at http://jobs.wordpress.net/
clear your cache , and remove the CSS you posted from your website.
see if that fixes it
if it doesnt
post an image just so i know what you are talking about.
try to do a screenshot.
