can you tell us how you have put that code in the widget – ie what widget you are using and how you have put
[bbp-lost-pass]
in itIn reply to: Missing – else return $actionok
If you are using 2.6.1 then the fix is in there. The message is from the buddypress plugin that doesn’t know what version of bbpress you are using, so just puts that message up !
Do you actually have an issue other than seeing this message?
if not then ignore it
If so then come back
In reply to: Help with breadcrumbs…btw – I am just a user of bbpress who has written some extension plugins, so have no drum to bang. bbpress has over 300,000 active installations, but it is designed as ‘lite’ software, that others can easily hook extensions into. The documentation isn’t what it should be – I have written large parts of it since I started using it, but it could still be much better.
As such it doesn’t suit everyone, but hope having come this far you’ll give it a try.
There are 1/2 dozen of us who try and help here, but we tend to do stints in between other stuff, and it’s august and many people are on holiday I suspect.
In reply to: Help with breadcrumbs…ok, so back to your initial post – you renamed the forum root slug as ‘Index’ – yes?
if you do that, and then create a wordpress page called ‘Index’ and in that page put
[bbp-forum-index]
Then call that page from your menu and it should all work nicely.
In reply to: Help with breadcrumbs…my style pack plugin lets you change what breadcrumbs say
In reply to: Plugin Cost Nonsense? Is This WordPress Life?sorry – I was asking another moderator (netweb) whose is an expert in forum imports for help
Since this is a paid theme, I’d suggest you contact their support forum for help
In reply to: Keeping 2.6-alpha updatedI think 2.6 is fairly stable and awaiting release.
In reply to: Page Layoutsidebars are theme related – start by looking at
section 8
In reply to: Plugin Cost Nonsense? Is This WordPress Life?@netweb – can you help here?
In reply to: Missing – else return $actionThe code is included in 2.6 alpha
/includes/extend/buddypress/notifications.php
lines 43-45
// Bail if not the notification action we are looking for if ( 'bbp_new_reply' !== $action ) { return $action; }
It could be a theme issue
Aa test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.
In reply to: Missing – else return $actionthe other trac ticket it refers to tells you where to put it
https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/5512
but you’d need to check whether 2.6 has already included that
In reply to: “Start Discussion” page plugin available?1. create a page
2. put one of these two shortcodes in it[bbp-topic-form] – Display the ‘New Topic’ form where you can choose from a drop down menu the forum that this topic is to be associated with. [bbp-topic-form forum_id=$forum_id] – Display the ‘New Topic Form’ for a specific forum ID.
3. add the page to your menu
In reply to: Parsing of CM Tooltip glossary terms in forumI’ve been mulling this over…
I don’t think the following will work, but it’s worth an initial try – add this to your functions file
function bsp_breadcrumbs ($args) { $pre_current_text = $args['current_text'] ; $args['current_text'] = '[glossary_exclude]'.$pre_current_text.'[/glossary_exclude]' ; return $args ; } //add the filter add_filter('bbp_before_get_breadcrumb_parse_args', 'bsp_breadcrumbs');
Let me know either way !
In reply to: Prefix RecommendationI would like to suggest for a future update that either the word ‘recommended’ should be removed from there or an additional line should be added explaining why is that recommended.
agree it would be good to know !
only admins get those options, particiapants don’t get these
In reply to: Forum menu not showing correctlybbPress is tested with wordpress default themes. It maybe a conflict – you need to check plugins and themes
It could be a theme or plugin issue
Plugins
Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.
Themes
If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.
Then come back
from what and why?
In reply to: Forum page title links to last forum created – why?but this issue was present before activating bbPress.
uh? not sure how you can have an issue with forum software before it is installed.
I presume you went through
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/before-posting/
and if so did it identify the theme as the issue or a plugin?
In reply to: Prefix Recommendationnot sure there is an answer !
@netweb – do you know why?In reply to: see email of forum user as Super-Administratorwhat bbpress role does the person have? if admin, and they see the ip address in replies, you could put the email under this using
add_action ('bbp_theme_after_reply_author_admin_details', 'rew_show_email') ; function rew_show_email () { $user_id_rew = bbp_get_reply_author_id () ; $user_info_rew = get_userdata($user_id_rew); $email = $user_info_rew->user_email; echo 'Email: '.$email ; }
put this in your functions file

In reply to: correct way to override bbpress templatesIf I understand you correctly you want to amend a file in
wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default/bbpress/
The easiest way is to copy the relevant file to your child theme
create a directory on your theme called ‘bbpress’
ie wp-content/themes/%your-theme-name%/bbpress and copy the file there egwp-content/themes/%your-theme-name%/bbpress/loop-forums.php
bbPress will now use this template instead of the original
and you can amend thisYou can also add a location – for instance within a plugin I use I add a location using :
add_action( 'bbp_register_theme_packages', 'bsp_register_plugin_template1' ); //get the template path function bsp_get_template1_path() { return BSP_PLUGIN_DIR . '/templates/templates1'; } function bsp_register_plugin_template1() { bbp_register_template_stack( 'bsp_get_template1_path', 12 ); }
