We’re now having other subscribe issues:
– A moderator type of person subscribes to a topic/post. They get notifications, then miss a notification. Then it starts working again and they receive the next notification.
– 2 people subscribe to a post. One gets notified immediately of the new reply. The 2nd person doesn’t get notified until the following day.
This does not seem to be a caching problem since I have now excluded all the forum extensions in SG Optimizer. I’ve also heard that this problem happened to a user on Safari, but not when they used another browser so it seems isolated to Safari. Any thoughts? I’ve scoured the web, but nothing is coming up.
I excluded everything in SG Optimizer, but we received two double posts this morning. What else do you think could be causing this issue? This is a live site with A LOT of website traffic coming through. So, unfortunately, I cannot afford to turn plugins off because it will obviously break things while people are using the website. Any ideas of other things to try?
Just heard back from one of the users and they were using Safari. Seems to be a problem specifically related to that browser. Any ideas on how we can work around this?

Screenshot of a 3rd different user who experienced this issue this morning. You can see the title of the forum post called “Trusting God” she is trying to share with an orange hyperlink color. Then, underneath that, it is attempting to embed the mobile version of that page/post into the forum reply. I turned off “show link preview” from the settings, which I believe resolved the issue, but we WANT the link preview to show, so I put the setting back on.
Sorry to clog up your inbox with all these replies. I assumed I DID need the asterisk and added it in. I see some other slugs listed in the forum setting section. Should I place ALL of these in the excluded cache settings or will adding the ones you listed above be sufficient?

Two users just experienced this problem back-to-back across two days. I believe it was once for each person. Another user experienced this problem about a month or so ago. I hadn’t heard of any other problems between that time period.
Hmm…if this was a problem that happened every time, I’d be willing to do that because then we could appropriately test whether the problem persisted with this off. But it’s kinda hard to know if SG optimizer is the culprit. But if you are pretty certain that is the cause, by all means we can try it 🙂 Thanks for the speedy response!
