In reply to: email registrations/password resets not sent
pravin: many many thanks for your efforts. It is much appreciated.
Unfortunately it appears this might all be for naught. I just learned Sourceforge has disabled cron indefinately: “As of 2007-06-12 the cron service provided under the project shell service has been disabled. Ongoing systems problems have forced us to pull it offline until a suitable replacement can be developed. Accordingly, no estimate for when we’ll restore service is being provided.” – https://sourceforge.net/docs/A04

sigh.
Still, at least I can periodically ssh in and run the trigger script from the command line once or twice a day, so it’s not completely irrelevant.
In reply to: Users dont receive password after registrationAs best as I can tell this does not work on 0.8.1. The code appears to have changed quite a bit between then and now. Thinking that the latest replies are not getting responses because the status on this thread is set to “resolved”, I created a new thread at https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/1256 however after 5 days there is still no response. It looks like sourceforge users are too small a minority.
In reply to: email registrations/password resets not sentI finally found an example of someone sending email the sourceforge way, via a database and cron, and it is in php. Of course it is heavily specific to it’s parent project’s setup. Would someone please take a look at this and give an indication how it might be adapted to bbPress?
Thank you.
