    Is there a way to add an “unsubscribe to all button” in forumname.com/forums/users/user/subscriptions/

    Right now my users have to login and then go to each forum to unsubscribe.

    Hi all. So I found a workaround in my WHM. The server has a limit of 200 emails an hour per domain and in the account for the forum domain the settings were also 200. So I modified the amount to 199 and this stops the server from suspending the account. Any emails above 199 are then queued for the following hour.

    Fixed! (for now)

    Hi @dedial

    As I mentioned in m post, I am already using Google Recaptcha v3 which stops the bots. Scroll up and you’ll see my initial post.

    If you install the bbpress style pack plugin by Robin W you can set all new members to be automatically subscribed in the subscription management tab of the plugin. There are also settings for how email notifications are handled in the subscription emails tab.

    To be honest, I find that the style pack plugin is essential for running bbpress.

    Are you using a plugin to upload the images to a post?

    Hi Robin. (and all interested)

    Well, the first and main tip is not to lose patience with yourself (as one is not a plugin developer) or the actual plugin developer! They might not answer your email or question within a few minutes but that is because they are busy and you are not the only customer or client! πŸ™‚

    Also, the layout and basic (main) setup of the forum should be done on a desktop. Its a lot easier to visualize on a big screen and if it looks ok there it will look fine on a mobile device. I used IrFan View for windows 64 for all the forum image headers and it took a bit of time to get them sized right for both web and mobile display.

    The main issues I had was….

    A. Theme layout (Choosing the right theme for what you want is essential.) I have Astra which works together with the WPMobile native theme perfectly. Remember that the forum needs to work on desktop, tablet and mobile so web version and app should be as close as possible in layout etc

    B. Images not resizing correctly (on mobile devices) that are attached to forum posts. This was fixed by using the plugin Meow Lightbox. before that, any attached images were displayed at full size so very often just a black screen or a white screen. It took me ages to work out that pinching fingers to reduce the image size was needed!!!!

    I just have two things to fix now.

    1. After registering an account on the app you are redirected to the β€œwebsite” and not the β€œapp” on your mobile browser to login.

    Temporary Solution: Close the browser, open the β€œapp” and log in there.

    2. YouTube URL’s sometimes dont embed into a new post or reply. Just the URL is visible and you can’t watch the video inside the forum post.

    temporary Solution: Tap the YouTube URL to open the video in a new window at YouTube

    (The youtube thing is really annoying and happens in web version, mobile version and has been an ongoing issue since the site creation) πŸ™‚

    If anyone wants to look (you dont have to register to download the app or browse the site) its here https://iberianatureforum.com/ If you access the site on a mobile, there should be a notice at the top of the home page prompting the playstore download. Obviously only browsing is allowed if you are not registered.

    I haven’t gone for IOS apple yet as the outlay of $99 a year seems a bit expensive as opposed to the $25 one off payment that Google asks for.

    Although the forum is free, has no ads is small and suffered hugely from the attack of the big social networks it actually drives a huge amount of money making traffic to my commercial sites, particularly Wildside Holidays. I still dream of the day when people see the light and dump the excessive ad vomit from the likes of X, Fb etc…. I wrote a small comment here: https://iberianatureforum.com/forums/topic/facebook-and-forums-what-do-you-think/ (Some of the comments are really interesting!)

    Anyway, If you ask me the only way forward for something like a bbpress forum is to make it mobile friendly with push notifications just like those big boys have. people are more likely to engage with your content when their phone goes ping ping and there is a link directly to the content in the notification no?

    I’d love any feedback and comments!

    Updating this topic as I went ahead and used the WPMobile app with absolutely fantastic results.

    I now have a fully functioning BBPress forum available on the G Play Store with push notifications etc etc. Very happy!

    Highly recommendable for anyone with a BBPress forum!

    Hi, I use GD bbPress Attachments

    GD bbPress Attachments is an easy-to-use plugin for WordPress and bbPress for implementing files upload for bbPress Forums topics and replies. You can control file sizes from the main plugin settings panel, or you can change some attachments settings for each forum individually.

    Works fine for my forum

    In wordpress new post or page the youtube embed works every time. In bbpress new topic or reply it works sometimes and sometimes not (mostly not)… I am actually starting to think its a browser issue rather than wp, tinymce or bbpress.

    I was just hoping that the blocks everywhere plugin would help me fix the issue I have with embedding video into forum posts which I think is something to do with TinyMCE: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/youtube-links-not-embedding-in-forum-posts/

    I get what you mean, though, about the general user having issues with the block editor. I am still getting used to it and ran on the legacy editor for over a year before I made the leap! πŸ™‚

    @ibnat

    @ricsca2 Do you mean the “blocks everywhere” plugin by automaticc? I looked at that but am not comfortable with editing php files so am waiting for a more “user” friendly update for that plugin. πŸ™‚ I like the idea of the block editor in forum posts and replies though to replace tinymce.

    Was there any progress on this?

    I have a similar issue where even youtube videos wont embed in forum posts. Just the link to you tube is published. I have a seperate topic here: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/youtube-links-not-embedding-in-forum-posts/

    @ibnat

    That makes that doubly solved. Thankyou! πŸ™‚

    Adding a special link in that line of edit, trash etc isn’t really needed then and would just take up more space (especially in a mobile view)

    Thanks all!

    @ibnat

    Ahhhhh. I never noticed that option in the edit topic area in the backend of forum admin. Thankyou.

    Thats that solved then. Its really cosmetic to have it in the front end as well.

    Have a great evening! πŸ™‚

    From 46 issues in converting my forum to a fully functioning mobile app I am down to this one issue. Good news yes? Sigh! πŸ™‚

    I have searched the internet in forums and help sites for bbpress, TinyMCE and Astra theme and cannot find anything similar to my issue.

    I have disabled and re enabled plugins to look for conflicts. Tried Chrome, firefox and Edge browsers

    Youtube refuses to embed and be visible inside a forum topic.

    Any and all ideas welcome πŸ™‚

    No wait!. What I said above was a caching effect in firefox. Your custom css works fine.

    Fantastic. Thank you! πŸ™‚

    @ibnat

    Hi!

    That has had an interesting effect… The custom css removes the “Next Topic” link when a user is logged in but when logged out it is still there.

    ???

    All topics have this link at the bottom and it is also visible when logged out of the forum.

    Also a basic Q and A is handy and can be added to as your members ask question about forum usage: https://iberianatureforum.com/forums/topic/basic-forum-usage-q-and-a/

    I have these posts stickied to the top of the forum so new members find them easily.
